Guest guest
I've never heard of this supplement before, but the sulfur is the reason for the improvement in hair growth. So, if you cannot afford the supplement, you should get similiar effects stocking up on sulfur- rich foods. here is a list... http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/duke/chemical.pl?SULFUR , Sant & Brown <santbrown@l...> wrote: > > ps...do you know about the supplement MSM? it makes > > the hair grower stronger and faster...it's amazing > > stuff. > > This was directed to newbie Kevin, but I have to comment (don't I > always?!). I used to take MSM as a natural painkiller/remover whatever (a difficult joint or three). Then I no longer had the problem so I discontinued use. But I noticed while using it that my hair and nails were in great condition and noticed that lately they aren't. I was blaming the change to a vegan diet (oh sure, always blame *that*), but perhaps it's something else. Nevertheless I am crawling up the cupboard when I get off this 'puter to find my jar of MSM powder (no gel-caps, see?). My hair will no doubt thank you for this timely reminder *lol* > Shall report back if I'm not like Rapunzel within the week, dwarf and > all ;=) > > Best, > Pat
Guest guest
vegetables and fruit contain msm, but the amount is depleted by age, aeration, processing, and cooking. i think it would be hard to get an adequate amount without supplementation. msm helps the body produce keratin and collagen, which is why it helps people with arthritis (it helps rebuild connective tissues). hair, skin, and nails also benefit from the keratin and collagen. msm also helps the body utilize other vitamins, improves circulation, detoxs the cells, lessens muscle inflammation, decreases pain, prevents hangovers, boosts energy, improves immunity, helps with allergies, and improves tons of skin problems (bursitis, itching, faster wound healing, dry skin, etc...). that's just some of the benefits from the top of my head. i hope you will take the time to research this supplement....i think it's wonderful and beneficial to many. susie --- dave <dave4sale wrote: > I've never heard of this supplement before, but the > sulfur is the > reason for the improvement in hair growth. Guest guest
If this supplement helps with arthritis, do you think it would also help with carpel tunnel syndrome? Also, what does MSM stand for? Thanks! Guest guest
MSM stands for methylsulfonylmethane. ~ PT ~ Cats are rather delicate creatures and they are subject to a good many ailments, but I never heard of one who suffered from insomnia. ~ Joseph Wood Krutch ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~> , " Denise " <pamperedveggie> wrote: > If this supplement helps with arthritis, do you think it would also > help with carpel tunnel syndrome? > > Also, what does MSM stand for? > > Thanks! > Denise
Guest guest
hi denise, i think msm (methylsulfonylmethane) would be helpful for carpel tunnel syndrome because it would reduce inflammation and pain. it can't hurt. susie --- Denise <pamperedveggie wrote: > If this supplement helps with arthritis, do you > think it would also > help with carpel tunnel syndrome? > > Also, what does MSM stand for? > > Thanks! > Denise Hotjobs: Enter the " Signing Bonus " Sweepstakes http://hotjobs.sweepstakes./signingbonus
Guest guest
Hey Susie thanks for sharing your knowledge about all the good things msm does for us. I looked it up at an online store to get a price. There was a price for one bottle but no count per bottle...go figure. So two questions....what would you consider a good price on a bottle and with what pill count? These suckers sound to good to be true...what gives? Have you heard anything bad about it..? TIA for any info. Guest guest
hi shawn, i recently bought a bottle of 1000mg msm containing 100 pills for $13.14. that's about a 2 - 3 month supply for me (i take 1000 to 2000 mg a day). i think that's a great price. that was for opti-msm, which is a very pure, good quality msm. i worked at hfs for years and never heard a single bad thing about msm. i did hear dozens of amazing msm stories from my customers. the only negative side effects that i have ever read about were headaches and diarrhea. my theory is that would be caused by the detoxification of the body and would subside in a few days. when i do fasts or cleanses, i get headaches for the first day or so. also, msm shouldn't be taken by pregnant or nursing women because of the detoxification...don't want baby to ingest the toxins your body is eliminating. msm is non-toxic and is about as safe as pure (not tap) water. it is not related to sulfa, sulfites, or sulfates (the last two are preservatives found in deli meats, sausages, hot dogs, some dried fruits, and wines...among other things). humans are not allergic to msm because it is in our bodies (4th most abundant element). i think it's amazing stuff. i can't believe more people don't know about it. hope this info is helpful, susie --- matrixenos <matrixenos wrote: > Hey Susie thanks for sharing your knowledge about > all the good things > msm does for us. Guest guest
Hi Susie....this was definitely helpful, thank you very much. I purchased a bottle today...20 more pills, 250 less mg per, and a few more bucks then the type you had mentioned (but I HAD to get it..will shop around for the $13 next round). It says to take 4 per day but I think I'll try your range (1 tah 2). Thanks again... Guest guest
Kim, I know you can buy it in powder form at www.rawfood.com. I'm not sure of the price, but I think it's quite reasonable. Susan
Guest guest
Yes, MSM, like all sulfur compounds is acid. Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta.
