Guest guest
Since changing my eating style I've become more spiritually grounded (though not religious) and able to discern a lot more clearly. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy detective...lol...I'd like to know what everyone feels about the true intentions of the Government in regards to how it feeds America. It's no secret that the Government has lied to us about numerous nutritional facts which have ultimately decreased the lifespan of man. It is a fact that certain foods the Government pushes as " required " or " good for you " are the main causes of death. The same Government that many trust to educate them on feeding their children, is the same Government that allows the sale of cigarettes and other cancer producing products because they are money producers. Is it as simple as the almighty dollar being their reasons, or can it be a combination of things? Maybe a ploy to avoid over population, some type of testing, or other? I'm very interested in what others think. Lili
Guest guest
I'd like to know > what everyone feels about the true intentions of the Government in > regards to how it feeds America. - First, Lili, the 'Government' is not a thing but a collective nown describing the law making process and those involved in it and the collection and distribution of tax moneys. Those politicians that make up the law making assembly are all there for their own personal reasons and are subject to infulence. So Lili, it's up to you and me to influence them more than mosnanto or other agri giants who have no conscience and are only interested in the bottom line. They offer MONEY, and all we have to offer is our votes. Make 'em count and make 'em know to your elected member. rusty - " Lili " <ladyschaumburg <rawfood > Monday, April 12, 2004 6:23 AM [Raw Food] Government & Nutritional Education > Since changing my eating style I've become more spiritually grounded > (though not religious) and able to discern a lot more clearly. Guest guest
I think that SAD is another example of how special interest groups work in our government. If the government does not include milk for example, the milk lobby would be up in arms, and the senator from the dairy state would refuse vote to mfinance the food and drug administration if it did not cooperate with them. The FDA in deriving SAD made sure that it included every food in its peramid. All senators would have an interest they would want to help. Each state has diferent food crops (Maine Lobster, Iowa corn, Wisconsin cheese, etc..) The senators from these states would fight to include their states interest. Also there are powerful special interest groups paid for by the industries that provide research to the government. You know how this works: " Studies show that milk helps grow strong bones " , " Drinking beer every day can actualy fiight heart disease " . I read something the other day that claimed that choclate had many nutritional properties, and could actualy extend your life. If the FDA came out and said that raw foods was the way to go, all the senators would immediatly cut funding, and the FDA would be no more. Probably a good thing !
