Guest guest
Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a beautiful day. I have a question on almond nut milk. A friend of mine picked me up a container of raw almonds which I did soak and proceeded to make almond milk..I even added some pure vanilla. All I can say is BLECH! Is this an acquired taste or have I definitely done something wrong? I have not been feeling well and have had no appetite but had little bits of salad all week. This was the only thing I had today and it was not out of hunger but more out of curiosity. Well it killed this cat..lol Also, I am gaining weight and eating nothing but greens and trust me, not tons either. What is up with that? I guess that would need to go into a whole different area. Thanks for all the wonderful knowledge and inspiration I get from these groups. Hugs, Tone
Guest guest
Hey Tone, I put honey dates with my almonds to make the nut milk. It gives it a sweet taste. Maybe that might be better for you. Ariana
Guest guest
Hi Tone The fact that you are eating nothing but greens and gaining weight is so alarming to me as an overweight woman. It scares me. Like...uh-oh..even though I *feel* great ..am I on the wrong train? About the almond milk...I add vanilla and about 3 dates. Some people use maple syrup. It is wonderful! Good luck Angela Tone <tone102 wrote: Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a beautiful day. I have a question on almond nut milk. Guest guest
Hi Angela, Thanks for the reply. Even if I did get a hold of some dates, I doubt it would have made it any better. I did look forward to it as I used to drink rice milk and miss it. Oh well. Maybe because I was not hungry to start with though my picky son just took a tiny sip and gagged..lol a little dramatic to say the least. Don't go by my weight gaining and start to worry. It just confuses me that I have been barely eating..well not so really..enough but am gaining what seems to be every other day. I tell ya, when I turned 44 on January 2nd..Everything went downhill. Now I need some pepto..lol Hang in there with the raw. You are doing great. Thanks again Hugs, Tone Hi Tone The fact that you are eating nothing but greens and gaining weight is so alarming to me as an overweight woman. It scares me. Guest guest
Hey Tone~ Thanks for the encouragment about going raw. What do you think the deal is? with you eating raw and gaining weight.. I have a real life friend who went raw last year for a time and said that when she ate alot of greens the weight didnt come off, but when she ate fruit of all things she lost alot. I personally dont ever want alot of fruit. Some, sure, but not alot. It feels like greens/salad are " real food " . Anyway I know the story abt my friend is anecdotal, but maybe its true for some people~~ Take care and sorry about the almond milk being yucky! Guest guest
Hey Angela, Hope you are well today. I don't think my weight gain has anything to do with my eating habits. I am not feeling so peachy so maybe something that lies within, I truly wished that I liked fruit. At least I could have some variety. I can handle a banana and that is about it. No biggee on the nut milk, I will try again (thanks Ariana, if I ever find honey dates I will give it a try) like I said, I used to drink rice milk and I was hoping for something different once in a while. I drink water but will never say that I truly like it. Hang in there and keep up the good work, Not feeling well has been a plus in the sense that I have eaten no garbage what so ever. Just wish the stuff would not go bad before I can eat it Thanks so much Have a beautiful day Hugs, Tone - Angela LaMonte rawfood Tuesday, April 27, 2004 11:57 PM Re: [Raw Food] question on nut milk Hey Tone~ Thanks for the encouragment about going raw.
