Guest guest
Hello all~ This question doesnt necessarily apply to raw foods. My six yr old doesnt eat a raw diet..he does eat fruit, and likes salad as long as the dressing is sesame garlic Sass! But anyway, he is very ADD not hyper but often unable to focus, in his own world, doesnt seem to hear you when you speak even though his hearing is fine..until finally you say " DOMINIC " . I have been giving him DHA and his teacher says she sees a difference in him. I do too. My question is...do you think I could just as easily give him flax seed oil which is way cheaper and get the same results or is DHA a " silver bullet " as they say in WFM? If anyone has any wisdom to shed on this subject I am all ears! Thanks Angela Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at HotJobs
Guest guest
Hi Angela, Hope this finds you well. May I ask what is DHA? My teen son and myself also share ADD though not in school so there is that difference. The Omega Fatty Acids are supposed to be good along with other things. My son was diagnosed way too late and Me well...I am a pandora's box anyway Do you have books on ADD? I have the one Right brained children in a left brained world. My ex hubby works with Ritalin and has to wear protective clothing and a mask. That stuff is deadly. I also understand though that in many circumstances medication is necessary but the label is just so easily slapped on every time a kid acts up or does not seem up to par with what they expect. I cannot recall the contents of this book but you may have it if you like. Just let me know. Best wishes to you and your family Hugs, Toni - Angela LaMonte rawfood Monday, May 03, 2004 11:23 PM [Raw Food] Off Topic Question Hello all~ This question doesnt necessarily apply to raw foods. Guest guest
DHA is one of the omega fatty acids. You can get it in vegetarian form, or from fish oil. I wouldnt put my son on any sort of medication for it. I say that, but maybe if it was sever and unlivable I would be saying something entirely different. But it is livable. I just think if we could find a way to treat it naturally he would be a lot happier than he is now. Wow, soyour husband works in a laboratory that manufactures ritalin and it is really toxic stuff? That is so scary well wishes to you and yours as well~~ Angela Tone <tone102 wrote: Hi Angela, Hope this finds you well. May I ask what is DHA?
