I'm not disagreeing that $39 is a great price, but I've heard that it's not

a good dehydrator, so this is just a word of caution before you buy one

there. We have the Excalibur and really really like it, it's going pretty

much 24 hours a day. I know it's not cheap, but if you're going to be

dehydrating a lot, you might consider the investment. Just one opinion. When

it comes to quality, sometimes I think it's better to pay more and get

something really worthwhile, especially if you'll be using it as much as I

do, and if this is truly a life time commitment, which I'm sure it is for

most of us.

Yesterday at Wal-Mart they had a dehydrator for $39.00,I plan on buying it a

little later when the money flow is better. It look's well made and has a temp

control which is important,in the meantime I'm borrowing my sister's

Excaliber, but it's so big and takes up a lot of space.

Michelle~

Thank you for the word of caution .I appreciate it. Can I ask though what the

problems were with it? I definitely plan on using it, but not constantly as my

schedule with two young ones kind of doesnt allow it. I borrowed a friends

excalibur and I *loved* it. It was such a treat to have the stuff i was having

bc of it. Its just that right now we really cant afford the excalibur. I could

possibly save up for a while and then get it.

thanks again

I dont actually eat meat. When eating a SAD diet I did like soy jerky.

Thanks for the heads up on the inexpensive dehydrator. I am going to research

deydrators and see which works for me~~

Thanks again

It would probley do the trick until we can afford an Excaliber,I know they're

good.That's what I did when I needed a juicer,used a cheapie until I could buy a

Champion.

I save all my change and I've got almost $200 again in about 6 month's.

Thanks so much. Yesterday was Mothers Day so we bought a 4 tray excalibur on

ebay for $50 ..not too much of a financial difference. Now lets just hope that

it isnt damaged or messed up in some way.

If it is, at least now I hope I have a temporary and cheap option~
