Guest guest
I am mostly a lurker, but I have a question about Gabriel Cousen's new book, " Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine. " I'm wondering if anyone has tested out his theories (we are all fermenting from too many high glycemic foods--raw fooders included!)? Have any of you read his book and tested this way of eating in your own life? I have not yet read the book, but have great respect for Cousens, and just want some feedback from those more knowledgeable in this area. blessings, chai

Guest guest
Because unfortunately, if someone posts something that not everyone agrees with, they are pushed out of the group. Guest guest
yes Lopez, because, it's hard enough trying to stay raw in the real world, so when you go to your group called 'Raw Food', you're looking for support to stay raw....not learn how salmon taste great!! there're many other groups for that...why is that so hard to understand? Guest guest
Ok, if no one else is going to comment...(I'm so new I hesitate to comment on stuff)... I really like Cousens. When I started raw in January I started reading just about all the raw authors. He is my favorite along with Steve Meyerowitz. Dr. Cousens offers the most intelligent information I've seen, bar none. I have not read this particular book of his, or seen his comment about us " fermenting " . I'm not sure about the science of that in terms of " fermenting " but it is obvious that our diet in the U.S. is high in sugar and sugar is a key to degenerative disease, whether the mechanism is " fermenting " or not. Dr. COusens is the most comprehensive in the raw food movement, in my opinion, and there are many questions to begin with. I'll add here that, though, in the beginning one doesn't know the questions to ask. I started my raw journey by going to a raw food institute for 6 weeks. After 3-4 weeks there I started reading all the raw books I had brought with me, which were many, and I continue to read today. There are some wacko's out there, in my opinion. Some with absolutely no sense at all. Dr. COusens provides answers to questions I've not seen anywhere else. Hope that answers some of your question.-- anne rawfood , chai_mama@j... wrote: > > > I am mostly a lurker, but I have a question about Gabriel Cousen's new book, " Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine. Guest guest
anne~ thanks so much for commenting on cousens. i agree with you--cousens seems to be very thorough in his work/research, and i trust his judgement. but the rainbow green live-food cuisine is very restrictive (low in sugars). i wonder if anyone has followed it? i think it would be hard. i wonder if you checked out the tree of life website? an amazing place! would be awesome to spend some time there, take some classes. thanks for taking the time to respond (and not just bicker/scold lurkers!) blessings, chai

Well, we are each different. I was shocked at the raw food institute that I had NO cravings for sweet at all and I was addicted to sugar and carbs when going there. We had an apple in our green soup each day but besides that I not only did not have any cravings I avoided fruit when offered for the firs several weeks. You might be surprised also at what your body does or doesn't want. That said, short term vs long term may be a different story. Again, it may just depend on your own body. > i wonder if you checked out the tree of life website? Oh yeah. I've been surfing raw for several months. Gave it some thought to travel there. an amazing place! would be awesome to spend some time there, take some classes. > thanks for taking the time to respond (and not just bicker/scold lurkers!) > blessings, > chai You bet. /a
Guest guest
People are too egoic (an exaggerated sense of self-importance) and sensitive at the same time. They short-circuit themselves and are unable to express themselves.
