Hello~

In the first week of doing raw I noticed an immediate change in my sleep

pattern. Sleep has been a big issue for me all of my life. With raw I fell

asleep faster, needed less sleep, and woke up clear headed and refreshed. That

has waned some. Do you all experience this new kind of sleep, or do you still

need alot of sleep at night?

thanks in advance

I have always been a person who needed a LOT of sleep. Since eating

mostly raw (more and more every day) I've started to feel more

energy and getting up with my kids in the mornings is actually

pleasant!!! I just got a new book in the mail today, Fit for Life

II - gonna go read for a bit before going to bed. Night!

I only sleep about 3 hours, 4 at the most and have more than my share of

energy all day long...I've found most that are raw dont need as much sleep, but

sometimes during different seasons some of them sleep a bit longer...

Hi. I'm glad that you posted this question because it made me aware of a couple

things. While I have not noticed so much of a difference in my sleep patterns at

night, I have noticed that I no longer need an afternoon nap, which I needed

everyday to get me through the evening. Also, I have noticed that I no longer

feel sleepy when I drive.

Peace, ~*~Mary Ellen~*~

I haven't been raw long enough to get my excellent sleep pattern back

yet, but I remember a couple months ago after being raw for awhile, I

would sleep about 5/6 hours a night, fall asleep easily and wake up

clear, energized and ready to go. Hopefully, soon I'll fall back

into that pattern.

That is so amazing. To have my relationship with sleep be different is such a

motivator for me.

I should explain a bit further. I'm still getting a good amount of

sleep - about 8 hours, maybe 9 depending on when I go to bed. I

usually sleep from 12 or 1 until 8 or 9 when my kids wake up. That

used to not be enough, and I was cranky as can be. Now it feels

like plenty unless I'm sick.

Isn't it obvious that anything outside of raw food leaves a food

hangover? That sort of tired, giddy, comfy feeling until guilt sets

in. That is, of course, when we overeat, which we eventually reach.

It starts out as a food high with false energy that's going to come

crashing soon.

Yes. I guess it is. But I didnt see that before. I saw my

apathy/lethargy/depression/over-eating as a sign of personal failure, as a sort

of moral indictment. Like...no matter what I do I cant get my sh** together. I

really didnt associate it with my food choices.

I feel like the world should know about this secret~!
