Guest guest
I feel closer to God eating this way too...I feel more spiritually clear and my negative emotions pass faster without a lot of effort. I am clearing out a lot of mucous as well. It is all good changes though.... I can't believe people think that eating this way is abnormal... My brother emailed me with info against this diet...he is overweight and eats for emotional reasons. We have gone thru some ups and downs this year. Some of the info he emailed me argued against the raw diet saying it was not healthy, it caused you to die earlier and you should cut out coffee. My feeling is that we each need to create our own path....If this path is not for my brother I am okay with that, I am just used to sharing info with him....I feel he may have been sending me that negative hype because he sees me succeeding and it scares him. It sucks when family members try to impose there negative stuff on you.... It is incredible. To late, I'm allready converted. Its ok by me if you want to talk about God and bread and stuff. I was wondering my self if Jesus ate his bread raw. Guest guest
This is interesting, to feel the need to be involved with this change to raw food. No real need for forum support groups for the SAD diet. Guest guest
I think its because in eating raw you are taking the road less travelled. Everyone around you is doing something that you know is unhealthy, and causes us all to be desensitized to the joys of life...I need support in not " using " ! in staying clean~ Angela Rich Sachs <seconaphim wrote: This is interesting, to feel the need to be involved with this change to raw food. Guest guest
<< I feel closer to God eating this way too...I feel more spiritually clear and my negative emotions pass faster without a lot of effort. >> It is really amazing. And what is even more amazing to me is that when I eat really light, and when I stick to single type foods in a meal I am flying high, euphoric, cant get God out of my head etc. Then I eat cashew butter and apples and get grounded really quickly. When I first started this I met a guy in a raw foods potluck/yoga event and I heard him say that he really felt the need to get dates and coconuts out of his diet. I didnt say anything but I quietly thought he was nuts. He was listening to his body. << Some of the info he emailed me argued against the raw diet saying it was not healthy, it caused you to die earlier and you should cut out coffee. >> My mom always says things like " its great your doing this but its so obvious it isnt a diet that one can sustain for long term, and then when you start eating " regular food " again what will happen to your metabolism then? Guest guest
The Road Less Traveled. M. Scott Peck. I used to be a readaholic too, haven't really read anything (nothing like a new, whole book) since '95/'96. Guest guest
That's the goal for me, is to feel really comfortable just eating whole vegetables and fruit and leaving out some of the emotional support ones like dates, avocados, bananas, maybe even grapes. Just eat lettuce, broccoli, bell pepper, other vegetables, oranges, apples, pears, other fruits. Unless, of course, I start to believe that I only really like the taste of fruit and therefore it must be intended that that's all I should really it. I just can't really believe yet that I can get all the nutrition I need from just fruit. I guess I have a bias against the real rightness of sweet things from all the cavities I got as a kid eating sugar. Guest guest
I really like to hear what other people are eating in a day, or what other people want to eat in a day! I notice that you never say tomatos. Do you not like tomatos? I notice that quit a few people never say tomatos.I know that in raising young kids people on a SAD diet say that they are big time allergens. I love them though and eat as many as I can. I cant see myself just wanting fruit. I like greens too much. Anyway, as always, so glad to hear other peoples perspectives. Guest guest
I have worked the 12 steps as a child of a heroin/coke addict. I strongly believe in the disease model. I believe some people are predisposed to addiction..dont make enough endorphins to feel " right " until they stumble upon something that artificially and temporarily creates a surplus. Raw foods would solve so many ills if people just knew about it, and were open enough to not immediately think " wow. thats weird " . With my history/background I am really interested in that 12step cooked food addiction book, but I cant get it just yet. I cant even get around to reading it just yet. In time. Guest guest
All the raw vegetables and fruit, including tomatos, yes I eat them. I'm only happy eating raw plant food in its simplest form, just pick it up and eat it, peel it, remove its casing or cut it if necessary or convenient.
