Guest guest
i love the morning star not bacon, tho i have found it wimps out a bit in green beans, good to know about the tvp, saw it in the store yesterday and was curious ( they had ham and sausage flavors as well) but was afraid to try it...the back of the back looked a powdery like the stuff turned to dust as soon as you touched it. wolfie Mail Plus - Powerful. Guest guest
Is TVP the brand name? where would I go about getting something like this? although a smaller scale would be appreciated, since it's just me and the kids... and the cats seem to not appreciate my efforts at " cruelty free " in their diets! My husband makes a green bean lecas. Basically just green beans, tomatoes, onions and garlic. > > Laura > We got some of those morningstar pretend bacon to put into the bean-beans, any other opinions would be welcome, since we haven't used this product before. Guest guest
Dawn, TVP = texturized vegetable protein, a generic term. I use the " BeefNOT! " brand, from Dixie Diner's Club (try www.dixiediner.com), but many other brands are out there. It doesn't go bad, so the 5-pound bag is not a bad investment. (My cats don't appreciate most of my cooking, either.<g>) Is TVP the brand name? where would I go about getting something like this? although a smaller scale would be appreciated, since it's just me and the kids... and the cats seem to not appreciate my efforts at " cruelty free " in their diets! Guest guest
> Green beans and string beans are the same thing? Some green beans have strings on the side, some don't. When you snap the tops, the strings peel right off... but it is easier to get the ones without strings. I can't tell a difference in taste. ~Wendy
Guest guest
Thanks Wendy I was wondering about that. So I guess I eat green string beans then Have a great day Tone Some green beans have strings on the side, some don't.
