Guest guest
Hello everyone! I'm new to this list and also new to the concept of raw eating. I figured I would try to incorporate some raw foods starting TODAY but I had some very bad results: (FYI: I usually don't eat breakfast - the few times I do I usually have lucky charms or some other sugar laden cereal. For lunch I usually have fast food! Some days I don't eat until I get home in the evening and that usually turns into an all out binge. I know - my eating habits are disgusting. I'm trying to get educated so I can get healthy....but I digress...) Today I decided to have a banana for breakfast. About 1 hour later or so while at work I had a bunch of snow peas as a mid morning snack. For lunch I had an avocado and a mango. Right after lunch I started to feel real hungry - crazy hungry - like so hungry I started to feel sick (nausa and head ache.) Mind you there are times I don't eat until night time so I was shocked that I was feeling so terrible considering I had eaten alot of stuff. Aside from the nasusea and head ache I started to get very irritated and emotional, almost like hyper sensitive as well as very tired. I left work early (at about 3 and had crappy food when I got home and sure enough the nasea and head ache and hyper sensitive emotions passed about 2 hours after eating my junk food. Any suggestions on why this happened or how I could eat raw and make it work? Regards- Anamaria P.S. Sorry for the long post!
Guest guest
Hi Anamaria, I have some ideas as to why you got the reactions you did, but rather than speculate about them, I would prefer to give you a bit of my perspective about eating. First of all, forget about breakfast in general. About the only time I'm hungry in the morning is if I skipped my dinner the day before. We are in a cleansing phase until around 11 am or noon, so we usually aren't really hungry until then. Second, don't snack. When we constantly feed our bodies, they don't have time to digest anything, nor to rest in between meals. When we snack, we create traffic jams in our digestive organs. Third, eat filling meals, with plenty of food, not just a little something here and there. Eat three (or two or four, however many your body wants) meals per day, but make them real meals. Your first meal should be a fruit meal--eat plenty of fruit so that you have your fill. If you don't eat enough of the good food, if you leave yourself hungry, then you will end up bingeing on the junk food. So eat your first meal of fruit only, you can eat whole fruits, or fruit medleys with all the fruit chopped up, you can eat one type of fruit or combinations, you can blend fruits up into a smoothie, lots of options. Try to stick to fresh fruits, rather than dried fruits. If you eat dried fruits, soak them overnight in water, covered, in the refrigerator to re-hydrate them. For the rest of your meals of the day, make one meal a nice big salad, filling and delicious. Put into it what appeals to you, it doesn't have to include a zillion different foods, though it can if that's what your body desires. If you include nuts or seeds or avocado in the salad, it's even more filling, so your body is not hungry and looking to binge. This meal can be at dinner time or mid- afternoon. For your third meal, you can have another fruit meal, or else another salad, or else some kind of raw vegan treat, perhaps a recipe you'd like to try out, whatever your body is hankering for. Eat what you love, whatever your body desires at a given time, which can change at any moment. But eat what you love, and nothing else! The realm of raw fruits, veggies/leafies, nuts and seeds, is a cornucopia, a giant smorgasbord. Let your body choose what it desires at any given time. Fill up on the good foods, and soon you will want nothing else! Zsuzsa rawfood , " Anamaria " <ana_banana_girl> wrote: > Hello everyone! The medical community will classify you as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as these are all classic symptoms. What is happening is that your organs are detoxing without the body being capable of eliminating them. The colon needs to be cleansed first and healed and working properly so that when you cleanse the other organs (liver, etc) that the toxins have an easy exit route. I am working on this and getting better. You will want to focus on insoluble fiber and get a good amount in the diet (veggies, ground flax, etc). When the colon is clogged the lymph cannot empty into the small intestines. Take it slowly. I feel you are overwhelming your body too quickly. It is a good idea to transition into raw foods over a period of time. This will bring on the best healing unless you are in desperate need to cleanse now~such as a cancer life and death situation. I hope that helps! Sandy
