Guest guest
In my allergy research recently I learned that corn is actually classified as a GRASS. When I read that, I realized that it's shape gives it away.
Guest guest
Corn, the plant is a grass. Grains are the fruits of grasses. Grains should not be eaten raw unless SPROUTED. rusty - " Barbara J " <pearls25 <rawfood > Friday, June 11, 2004 1:37 PM [Raw Food] Q: IS Corn A Grain? Guest guest
I used to soak whole rolled oats and seed and raisins overnight for a raw porridge/mueslei, and it never did me any harm. Bear in mind it's all soaked, I wouldn't try eating rolled oats dry - too much effort for one thing! Love and light, Graeme rawfood , " Eva Humphrey " <waveoflight@f...> wrote: > How about oats. Guest guest
At what point in the process would oats get steamed? I could roll the oats myself which really wouldn't hurt them. But can I get around the steaming? Eva - esred sez myrna rawfood Thursday, June 17, 2004 2:27 PM Re: [Raw Food] Q: IS Corn A Grain? Guest guest
Eva, I have a bucket of whole oats in the coat room...white bucket. If you want to go by and pick some up. Haven't tried to sprout them, but I did roll them with that little machine. They were delicious. They came from a bulk order at the Springs.
