Wow, you sound like you have quite the loving attachment to your dog.

That's wonderful. Can you understand it if not all people share this

attachment?

I'm thrilled that the event is asking for no dogs.

I guess to each their own...Blessings - Jan

Actually, I am the alpha male and my dog is a member of my pack. :>) But on

a level that non-dog people can understand, my dog is a member of my family,

quite popular with the kids because he is a real funny character and

actually works as the chief of security around my home. Additionally, he is

a comforting deterrent to anyone who would try to aggressively approach my

family anywhere we are.

I truly feel for you deeply if you've never experienced the unconditional

love a dog brings to your home and the dynamic they introduce to just

everyday living. Dogs will grow your soul to such a wonderful level that I

certainly consider them part of my spiritual journey to enlightenment, just

as I consider the raw food lifestyle to be a required journey as well. There

are eight Grand Dynamics that must be understood and mastered to achieve a

permanent State of Grace, and one of them is the responsibility and care of

animals on this planet. Hey, all I'm saying is that I don't feel the love...

And by the way, If I was looking for a place to hold a Raw Food Festival, I

was simply keep looking until I found one that allowed dogs. Its seems that

in this case, dogs fell into the " inconvenience " category and got left off

the priority list. I'm not bent out of shape on this issue, I just find it

preposterous for the Living Now Festival promoters to proclaim, " " Let us

come together to rejoice in this sacred present moment and create a more

beautiful and awakened future, " and not include dogs, which are certainly an

intrinsic and irreplaceable part of Sacred Life.

As a bonus, I've meet some incredible people in my dog's group. We get

together twice a year. It's a wonderful human/animal social interaction that

you either get or don't get. It's all about creating an extended family. No,

dogs are not for everybody and I respect that, but I rarely run across

people who can't or won't tolerate a well trained, socialized dog being

around.

Thank you, Jesse, for speaking up about this event's policy.

Whatever your reasons for boycotting it and voicing your views, I

applaud you for this challenge to the hypocrisy and bigotry against

non-humans practiced by most humans. It is baggage which sadly many

humans carry with them into the raw vegan movement, and indeed it

has no place in a compassionate, healthy, enlightened society.
