Guest guest
Yes.....I was fatigued during detox and it slowely went away. Then I discovered Primal Defense, and it seemed to make a lot of sense. I started to take huge doses of the stuff, and my energy level went WAY up. I have not EVER had this level of energy, and I was in my mid 30's when I went raw. For years I took antibiotics, drank clorinated tap water, and ate a lot of sugar. All of these things kill the good bacteria in our digestive system, which is needed for countless reasons. Primal defense is the best probiotic I have found it comes from a company called Garden of Life. The owner's story is very interesting, and writen about in a book he sells (or gives away most of the time). I have not been sick since I started on the Primal defense, and feel dramatically better. Guest guest
Dr. Herbert Shelton said that most, if not all, healing occurs during sleep. So the body clearly needs sleep to accomplish its healing. And most of us have led lives of non-optimal eating, and habits. And most of our bodies have a lot of healing and cleansing to do, so the more we need to heal and cleanse, the more sleep we need. What we actually have is a huge chronic sleep deficit, and the body tries to make it up whenever it can. Most of us are also very enervated. The word enervation consists of " e- " , meaning out, " nerv- " , meaning nerve energy, and " -ation " , the process of--it is talking about the depletion of our nerve energy. Our bodies' nervous systems can be likened to that of the electrical systems of cars, and it's not just the fuel we put into them that makes them run, but the electrical system has to be functioning efficiently too. We don't get too far on a dead battery! So the body needs to recharge its electrical system. We have had such hectic lives, most of us, and such stress, as well as the strain that non-optimal diets and habits put on our bodies. We find chronic enervation and what even the medics often recognize as sleep deficits, in so much of the population. I would almost tend to believe it exists in everyone, I just can't see how anyone can have escaped it unless they were living in the rainforest all their lives. Also, when we go raw vegan, the greatest benefit is not from what we eat, but what we don't eat, the toxins we no longer put into our bodies. The toxic foods that we've consumed all our lives have been greatly stimulating and enervating to the body. When one goes raw vegan, one stops beating the tired horse, so what one is left with is—a tired horse! One that needs and assertively demands a lot of rest. What is referred to as detox is the very insistent house cleaning and repair, rebuilding, revitalizing, healing, that the body does, when it suddenly finds that it is not being so deluged with toxins. The body is a miraculous self-healing, self-cleaning, self-repairing organism and system, with an incredible intelligence, and is always, no matter what, throughout our lives, seeking to make us as healthy as possible and to keep us healthy, and make us even healthier. The body always seeks the absolute optimal health, and assertively strives for it. Thus we have the seemingly paradoxical phenomenon of feeling so weak and tired we can't move, yet it is a manifestation of the tremendous and increasing vigor of the body—the body is absolutely demanding sleep, and that is why it is literally forcing us to lie down and stay there until it finishes its work. People panic when someone faints or goes into a coma, thinking it's a sign that something is terribly wrong, there is some horrible deficiency, they need to wake up, etc. Yet it's nothing but the body forcing us to rest if we don't heed it any other way. Here are a couple of excellent articles, one by Dr. Herbert Shelton, and one series of articles by Dr. Bernarr Zovluck, on the importance of rest and sleep, and how the body accomplishes its healing thereby: http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/020125shelton.pristine/ 020125ch34.htm rawfood/message/10403 When the overwhelming influx of toxins as a result of the SAD diet ceases to be consumed, and a raw vegan dietary embarked upon, the body will very assertively begin to throw off the toxins, and it is accompanied by symptoms. There may be acute conditions, dramatic and uncomfortable, which are extraordinary methods of elimination of toxins that the body uses. That shows the vigor of the body—it takes a lot of life force to embark on extraordinary cleansing, and the body will not tolerate toxins a moment longer than it has to, so it will seize the opportunity if the life energy is sufficient, to do some very dramatic cleansing and healing. Also, all chronic, degenerative conditions, in order to heal, must go through an acute stage. In chronic conditions, various parts of the body have degenerated as a result of their having to store the accumulated toxins from unhealthful diet and habits. The body will launch an acute condition, often in the form of an inflammation (sometimes erroneously called " infection " ), in order to cleanse and heal those parts of the body, and the body in general. There may be times that the body will require a fast. Fasting is complete rest of the body, including the digestive organs, and is usually indicated when there are acute symptoms, and an absence of hunger. For more info on fasting, here again are works by Dr. Herbert Shelton and Dr. Bernarr Zovluck: Here is a chapter on fasting: http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/020125shelton.pristine/ 020125ch28.htm Here is the table of contents of the book—it would be helpful to read the entire book, which you can do free on-line: http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/020125shelton.pristine/ 020125toc.htm And here is another excellent book on fasting by Dr. Shelton, which you can read free in its entirety on-line: http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/020127shelton.III/02012 7.toc.htm Here are invaluable articles by Dr. Bernarr Zovluck on fasting and on sickness/detox: http://www.healself.org/FAST.html http://www.healself.org/detox.html Zsuzsa
