Guest guest
do you mean when you look at it? or exposure to it? I haven't noticed yet in my 7months of being raw (too early to tell, maybe.) But I noticed that I can breath easier in humid weather and also in a high tempertured sauna since being raw! Anyone knows why? shri shea buddha Rufus Shaw <rufus10_99 wrote: I'm wondering if anyone else has become sun sensitive since going raw ? I seem to be growing more and more sensitive ??? This is fairly consistent with what people report as anecdotes. They say that their color is better, they gain a tendency to tan instead of burn, etc. But, some foods contains psoralens which are known photosensitizers, such as figs, celery, and members of the parsley family. If your diet is high in psoralens, increased photosensitivity would be expected. Carol
Guest guest
Excellent article! I'm a firm believer in having some sun exposure each day, preferable nude in the warmer months. My old physical trainer used to have us sunbathe for an hour daily, as it is wonderful along with a solid workout program, and it does burn fat, especially in the tummy area! Also, even some mainstream people are saying that the higher your diet is in fresh produce, and low in the harmful types of fats(like cooked processed ones!)you have more of a protective effect from all the antioxidants and as yet unknown factors in the raw food. Also, a number of raw foodists say they tan much more easily, and burn much less than on a typical American junk food diet. Also, remember, every bite you take of all those good raw foods, you are taking in solar energy, which gives life and vitality! I read that somewhere that in the winter months, when people are prone to seasonal affective disorder(in the more northern latitudes)eating more fresh food will help, for that very reason!--- In rawfood , John Rachel Davis <johnrachel_davis> wrote: > Hon, > > Try to find sometime to read this article, which is very good. > > LL > > Nicholas Costanza <jetpostman> wrote: > Check this out. Guest guest
I've actually experienced the opposite reaction. While eating cooked and processed foods, I was highly sensitive to the sun -- burned easily, broke out in heat rashes, would never tan, etc. The more I increased my raw intake, the less senitive I've become to the sun. Now, I don't break out in a rash, even after hours in direct sun, I'll tan and I'll rarely burn. (However, I am still very fair, so if I'm going to be out in direct sun for many hours, I will use sunblock.) Perhaps you're detoxing or going through a healing crisis of sorts...
