Guest guest
Got any good recipes for something I can dip asparagus into? For some reason I thought to dip into hummus - will never do that again - YUCK! So I went looking for something else to dip and only found Ceasar dressing - very yummy, but sent my fitday meter to 20% fat (that you for recommending that site - it's great!) Got any other ideas? Thanks! Allison B.
Guest guest
Hi Allison, How about making up a good bowl of guacamole..one of my favs That is something that you can dip a lot of different things in. You can make up a pico de gallo too which might be good but I would go with the guac. My favorite is jicama with that when I am able to find it which sadly has only been one time. Let us know what you decide to dip in. Ceasar is not raw but tastes good anyway good luck have a great day Tone Got any good recipes for something I can dip asparagus into? Guest guest
I have never tried this but here's an idea. I believe asparagus is often served with hollandaise sauce, so how about a mock hollandaise, adapted as a raw vegan recipe? I would use some tahini, squeeze some lemon, add some scallions, and whatever spices you like (I believe cayenne is often used in hollandaise, but be very sparing with it; also maybe a bit of tumeric, paprika, nutmeg, those are some of the spices some use in hollandaise), maybe a bit of water or homemade nutmilk if needed to thin it, and blend, then pour over the asparagus. Also, at least one raw restaurant makes a mock Caesar dressing with olive oil, lemon, and garlic. Guest guest
Would this Aioli (Garlic Mayonaise) work for you? http://www.rawfoodwiki.org/index.php/Aioli Wow, that's not the recipe I thought it was. (it has raw egg yolk in it) I made something similar, that uses flax seeds in place of egg. soak the flax for a while. What's the usual egg substitute? 1 tablesppon of flax plus 1 tbs water? Experiment. On Mon, 9 Aug 2004, amblprd wrote: > Got any good recipes for something I can dip asparagus into? > For some reason I thought to dip into hummus - will never do that > again - YUCK!
