How about spraying with hydrogen peroxide diluted with water then spray with

vinegar then rinse with distilled water. Same way with fruits and vegetables.

I've been seeing people go to atm machine (which may contain e-coli) then come

to stores and touch those fruits and vegetables and leaving them there for us to

touch. (shivering) I would think hydrogen peroxide could kill salmonella and

whatever else is there.

Grow your own sprouts. Let your kitchen be your garden! :-)

Buy good quality, organic seeds, then to the soak water, add some food

strength (35%) hydrogen peroxide, which you can find in health food

stores. That's what I do. The peroxide helps inhibit the grow of mold

and bacteria.

Hi Tina,

I use diluted hydrogen peroxide in my soak water and rinse water Seeds germinate

faster, with bigger

sprouts.

Add 1 oz. of 3% H²O² to 1 pint of water and soak the seeds overnight.

Add the same amount of H²O² each time you rinse the seeds.

Some people have reported 3/4 " sprouts in 24 hours.

My two cents: If you're worried about the potential for salmonella

poisoning, how about growing the sprouts yourself? You can try to find

quality " non-contaminated " seeds, grow them in a clean environment and

do a wash before you eat them. It won't guarantee anything, however, I

would think it reduces the risks to some extent.

Personally, I'm not willing to eat 100% cooked to guarantee never

getting salmonella poisoning. There are always trade-offs in life. My

personal opinion is that if my body is healthy and strong from a good

raw diet, my immune system is better prepared to fight off salmonella

and other nasties than if I was feeding it a high-cooked/SAD/etc diet.

Cheers,

Christine
