Guest guest
Hi Mikaela, My husband and I did it for about a month... I think it was about five years ago now. I won't lie... it wasn't easy! But, I felt fantastic after the first week... though we didn't eat a varied enough diet and if I had to do it again I would make sure we had more to eat than simply raw salads with no dressing every day. I completely understand about the no salt thing being an issue, as I am a certified salt-aholic! Right now I'm having a difficult time giving up a few things... one of which is margaritas. Why? SALT! In fact, I'm " cheating " right now, eating roasted, salted pumpkin seeds. I'll kick the habit eventually. We found we were able to call the Arise and Shine people anytime we had questions or concerns, and they were extremely helpful and friendly. Don't hesitate to give them a call! Good luck with your cleanse! I hope you enjoy renewed vigor and super health! Guest guest
Hi-- I did the cleanse a couple of times. One of those times I did the 'advanced' one for several days, and it was easy! I had no trouble with it at all, and I was quite surprised, as I'd been warned how hard it was, etc. Be sure to use the probiotics so you don't lose your friendly bacteria, though. Guest guest
I think they have pretty detailed instructions on their site, if I remember right. www.ariseandshine.com I'm heading out from work right now, and going to work out. I'd stay and write, but I have someone waiting for me. I'll do my best to write about my experiences with the cleanse tomorrow. Guest guest
> Hi Mikaela, > > My husband and I did it for about a month... I think it was about five > years ago now. My husband wants to start it with me a couple of days after thanksgiving. I think it's great because it definately has been a challenge eating with him and cooking for him while I can't even eat braggs on my steamed veggies!! I am just going to stay on the gentle phase for a few weeks then break for thanksgiving( we are a pure vegetarian and vegan household so even though we will cooked food and pies and such 100% organic indulgence and no animal products), and start up again with him after. I know it will be really hard for him the first week because he enjoys coffee everyday, beer at night and he has a serious sweet tooth. But I'm proud that he is wanting to do it on his own accord!! > I won't lie... it wasn't easy! I felt so good after the first week too!! The first couple of days I had hard core headaches. I think maybe cafffeine withdrawls and sugar, even though I just normally drink green tea. I started eating dates and dried organic mangoes and that cured the sweet thing! I eat alot of salad with flax oil and lemon or just lemon juice. My favorite has been a greek salad minus feta and salt. Diced tomatoes, onions and long english cucumber; marinated in lemon juice!! And when I need the extra proteine I dice up an organic avocado...I'm getting hungry! > > I completely understand about the no salt thing being an issue, as I > am a certified salt-aholic! Right now I'm having a difficult time > giving up a few things... one of which is margaritas. Why? SALT! That has been so hard!! I have never thought of myself as a salt junky but no miso soup? No braggs? Making veggie soup with no salt is just unapetising!! (is that a word?) > We found we were able to call the Arise and Shine people anytime we > had questions or concerns, and they were extremely helpful and > friendly. I have been calling. They recommended dulse but I just don't like it. I think I'll buy some nori and hijiki which I like more(they might not be allowed though?) I was disappointed to find out mana bread wasn't allowed since it is a raw bread and oh so yummy!! > Good luck with your cleanse! I hope you enjoy renewed vigor and super > health! > Thanks so much Suzy. I might whine to you all again(but I don't think that's allowed on this cleanse!!) I'm kidding thoughI love the way I feel on the cleanse. I've been having the coolest dreams. And what's been coming out of me...I won't EVEN go there. I'll just say it's a mixture of cool and gross!! I wouldn't call the cleanse hard but I have 2 step sons(who live with myself and my husband full time) and I work AND I go to school. I cook them breakfast (they are 8 and 11) and dinner, plus I do bikram yoga everyday. The challenge is although the kids are vegan I am not only constantly around food I can't eat but I am preparing it! Making cookies, pies...I have been resisting but put anybody in my shoes and I would be surprised if they didn't find it hard to cleanse in this environement. Be sure to use the probiotics so you don't > lose your friendly bacteria, though. I take them with all my meals. I'm on my 2nd week and I'm going to stay on the gentle phase till thanksgiving then after I will do the complete cleanse. The only other cleanse I've done is the master cleanser for 10 days a few times and one thing I love about this cleanse is I'm allowed to have the master cleanser drink!! It is yummy!! Guest guest
Dear Mikaela After reading the articles and checking around on celtic sea salt http://www.curezone.com/foods/saltpage.asp And also this web site http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/salt.htm And using a little sea salt myself, it would seem to me that sea salt is good for a body. What you should stay away from is refined table salt. Nicholas I need some help and support and I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has done this cleanse. I'm having a hard time with the no salt thing!! thanks mikaela Check out the new Front Page. www.

Sad but true...I guess salt in general impeads the cleansing process andalmost literally halts it. I am allowed dulse but not really salty sea weed even!! Thanks alot for your insight and help though!!!! mikaela
