Guest guest
Hi Gang, Greetings from Utah. I'm a 27 year old vegan of 3 years and have been researching Raw diets before I take the plunge. I love vegan cooking so much, however, that I'm convinced I'll have to become a certified raw chef to satisfy my cooking passion! Now for the question: Can anybody offer any insight into timing 'going raw' with planning a pregnancy? Is it best to be raw for, say, x amounts of months or years before getting pregnant? ALSO if there are any naturopaths out there (NDs), please email me privately if you are willing to give me a little college guidance counseling. I'm having a hard time choosing one of three majors now that I'm finishing my sophomore year of college. Thanks in advance - Rebecca O. Guest guest
I was high raw before I got pregnant with my 3rd child. I was doing really well until I got pregnant. I had been vegan/raw (at the time didn't realise I was raw, it was just how I felt best eating uncooked foods and no animal or grains). Anyhow I had only been on that diet for about 5 months and I don't think it was long enough for my body to adjust to preg hormones and the like because I couldn't stand greens, starting eating meat and grains again etc. I didn't gain a ton of weight but it has taken me 8 years to go vegan/raw again! Of course I wouldn't let that stand in my way if I wanted to be pregnant, especially since you are already vegan and hopefully eating a mostly raw diet already? Anyhow, just my experience! Guest guest
Check out Jinjee at thegardendiet.com. She has had 4 raw kids, and has written some about it. I think she has posted an e-book on her site. her kids are soooo diferent from cooked kids. No hyperactivity, screaming crying ect... They do raw weekends, if your near LA you should check them out. I have been to 3 and highly recomend them. They are some of the most exceptional people I have ever met. Check it out.
