Guest guest
I've read the book " natures first law " and the authors of that book are fairly new to raw foodism and have only followed this lifestyle since 1997 and beyond. Are there any other professionals or advocates for raw foodism that have a long history of eating raw foods? Or is this a recent lifestyle that has come along the last decade and increased in popularity after the release of the above book? Thanks

Thanks I personally know of people who got cancer in the 60's and switched to raw and became completely cancer free. The Hippocrates Health institute has been around since the 60's or 70's and is a leading insitute for the raw food lifestyle. Dr.Anne Wigmore is the founder and teacher and I believe she has been raw for at least 30 years if not more. All the books i have were written in the 70's. Let me know if you have any more questions. mikaela

I don't understand how someone can say they have been raw for 11 years when actually they have not be 100% raw for that period. From what I read she still battles cooked food addiction. Guest guest
I've only eaten raw six months so my opinion may not account for much. But here it goes. lol I used to eat tons of red meat on a daily basis but would occasionally take one day out of the week to only eat salads or fruits because I was so stuffed from prior weeks of meat eating. Sometimes I'd go a whole week because my digestive system was so tired. That one day or week of eating raw foods surely didn't make me a raw foodist did it? I was still very much a meat eater. We are all humans and not perfect. Striving for perfection in anything is dangerous and unhealthy. I've read that some raw vegans have developed Orthorexia because of extreme and unrealistic goals of perfection. Gorillas are supposedly fruit and veggie eaters(or is it only fruit), but even they will occasionally eat meat. The few times they eat meat certainly doesn't make them carnivores does it? Aren't they still considered vegetarian? I don't know who Jinjee is, but I think her situation is similar to mine in the past, only with different circumstances. One cooked cuppa soup or falling off the veggie wagon a few times during 11 years of eating live foods doesn't mean she is not an 11 year raw foodist IMHO. Just sharing my thoughts. rawfood , " rainbowegret " <egret.11@b...> wrote: > > > rawfood , Bharti Padmanabhan > <b_padmanabhan> wrote: > > > > Dr Bernarr- over 50 years (www.healself.org) > > Storm- over 30 years (www.thegardendiet.com) > > Roger Haeske -over 15 years (www.superbeing.com) > > Jinjee - over 11 years- (www.thegardendiet.com) > > Hi if you read Jinjee's online journals and pregnancy ebook you will > read that she had 2 cooked food pregnancies during this 11 year > period and even had cuppa soup in April this year one month prior to > the birth of her baby. > > I don't understand how someone can say they have been raw for 11 > years when actually they have not be 100% raw for that period. Guest guest
Oops- guess that was oversight on my part. Guest guest
I am not sure, but I have read somewhere that if you are at least 50% raw, you are considered a rawfoodist. I was a rawfoodist for a year and a half-although not a 100% because I would have things like maple syrup which is heated.(I was at 99%) So when someone says they've been raw for a while, it doesn't mean it's totally a 100%, unless they say they've been totally 100% raw for that period. I believe this path isn't about being perfect! Some people never make it to a 100% forever, some people stay at 50-75%, and some people do make it to perfection. I don't fault anybody for having a cup of soup in 11 years! I think it's great that jinjee wrote about it in her journal...at least she's being honest and I respect her for it. Have you heard of Shazzie? (www.shazzie.com) If you go to her site and read her journals she was totally raw for years, got pregnant, and then had some cooked food because she was having a tough time with rawfood...it upset her stomach...anyway don't be too hard on people...this isn't about perfection....!!!! Also, alot of rawfoodists battle cooked food addiction!
