Guest guest
1. CHRISTMAS DURIAN PARTY At Roman and Antje's Retreat in MALIBU on Saturday DEC. 25TH starting at 12 NOON. Away from the cook food frenzy, spend Christmas with like-minded people. Enjoy a truly raw Christmas Durian party. For the first time, we will have live music. Directions: Driving north on PCH, pass Leo Carillo and the Ventura county border sign. Turn right after the restaurant, Neptune's Net, into Yerba Buena Road. After about 2.3 miles, turn right on Yellow Hill Road steep up the mountain, then left on Wells Road and follow the wooden arrow to number 9680 Wells Road. Drive through the gate and please park your car at the upper level. The party will be at the level just below the parking area. Please call (866) EAT WISE for reservations. --- 2. CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS THE HEALTHY WAY: GIVE YOURSELF A TREAT WITH OUR DELICIOUS FRESH AND UNTREATED DURIAN! • Yes, we will have fresh, non-treated and non-irradiated Durian available nationwide for Christmas. Now you can throw your own DURIAN CHRISTMAS PARTY. Wherever you live, we can ship 4lbs, 10lbs or 20lbs Durian packages nationwide. The Durian will arrive at LAX Tuesday DEC. 21ST, all packages will be shipped the same day and will be at your doorstep Friday DEC. 24TH at the latest —just before Christmas. Talk to your friends and place a group order. This is the only way to keep shipping cost and packaging materials to a minimum! Please visit http://www.thepurefoodnetwork.org or call (866) EAT PURE for details. --- 3. NEW!! TRULY NATURAL YOUNG THAI COCONUTS, NON-BLEACHED, NON-TREATED WITH FUNGICIDES. Full of juice and flesh just in the right maturity. Extraordinary flavor and pure taste! Many of you have asked us to import young Thai coconuts that have not undergone the usual bleaching, fungicide and preservative treatments. The young coconuts currently made available by Asian markets are imported by boat. The transit time is somewhere between three to four weeks. To withstand the molding that would unavoidably develop during that time, coconuts have to be treated in Thailand prior to shipping. Our young coconuts are flown in which gives us a transit time of about 30 hours, so no treatment is required. Transportation by airplane is unfortunately much more expensive than by boat, which means that it will not be possible for us to meet the prices of the usual Asian providers. The quality is extraordinary and we guarantee you will taste the difference. Quantities will still be limited this time so make sure you reserve ahead. Available online at http://www.thepurefoodnetwork.org . Call (866) EAT PURE for details. --- 4. Guest guest
Hi Renata, In order to save on shipping costs we have people in Thailand take the flesh out of the shell prior to shipping. This also allows us to have more control over the quality (no hard, unripe durian). At this point one pound of flesh only is $13. Usually the weight ration between flesh and shell is slightly over 3, meaning the flesh is less than the third of the weight of the entire fruit. Hope this will answer your question.
