Guest guest
Question: I buy carrots in 25# bulk. How do I store them to keep them as fresh as possible? In a cupboard? In the fridge? In ziplock 1 gallon bags? In a tupperware box? Paper Sacks? I would be appreciative if anyone could enlighten me with an answer to this carrot dilemma! Guest guest
Hi, Sue, Definitely refrigerate, because unrefrigerated leads to mold very quickly (at least in my experience. I use two gallon zip lock bags that I find at Restaurant supply stores. It's fairly expensive for a box of 100, but I reuse the bags, and they seem to work better for the larger carrots. 1 gallon bags work fine if you can't get the large bags, you might just have to trim some of the carrots in order to zip the bag closed. peace, Valerie Sue <lornnslady wrote: Question: I buy carrots in 25# bulk. Guest guest
I don't know how nutritious they are...as I've had lots of storage foods. But they are there in a pinch to eat. I like to use my Pump n Seal ($15 on internet) and vacuum seal them in wide mouth canning jars. That way you can reseal them. Diana of Dewberry Hill Question: I buy carrots in 25# bulk. Guest guest
If they are in vacuum sealed jars...just keep out of direct heat and they will be fine outside fridge. D of DH The all-new My – Get yours free!
