Guest guest
Every group I have belonged to, past and present, welcomes links to other articles and sites with information; I don't think that should be a problem here as long as you are aware of what is being presented on the site. There used to be a poster in another group who would post sites without researching them himself first, so a lot of inappropriate material was passed on to the group. As long as you know the sites you are posting, there should be no problem. RE: Rough and harse edges--we all have them! You are not alone! Sometimes I think that's one of the reasons we are put on earth--to help each other smooth out! Peace, Valerie johnd <john wrote: Someone complained about me posting they said " Anyone who disagrees with him will be hit with a string of website links to justify his opinion, which only shows he can't think for himself. " My question is: In general, do you guys not like links being posted? I'm kind of new to this group. Maybe I need to learn the correct etiquette here. Do you consider posting of links that support ones point a sign of not thinking for ones self? I'm at point in my rawfoods learning where I do rely heavily on other people's findings and am trying to learn to 'think for myself', but you gotta start somewhere. The last thing I want to do is piss people off in this list, this specific group is by far my most valued group and is teaching me a lot about eating %100 correctly. I acknowledge that I have a harshness about me that I need to learn to smooth out.

Guest guest
The assertion or premise: " Anyone who disagrees with him will be hit with a string of website links to justify his opinion, which only shows he can't think for himself. " is misleading and equivocal. The statement seems to infer that posting links to data and information is equivalent to evidence of " inability for self reasoning. " Reasoned, rational, thinking is not the same as having knowledge and data. Posting links are not necessarily a statement about one's (his) ability to " think for himself. " The conclusion made by the poster of the quote is a misdirection and a fallacy of logic. tev --- johnd <john wrote: > Someone complained about me posting they said > > " Anyone who disagrees with him will be hit with a > string of website links to justify his opinion, > which only shows he > can't think for himself. Guest guest
There is nothing wrong with posting links on the board. I post them as well. However, this person continues to come to the board with debatable issues(in his own words) requesting that others read articles he has found on different websites, which is fine, but any time someone disagrees with those articles, or politely trys to say, thanks but no thanks, he feels compelled to explain why their views are incorrect, or why they should see the genious of what he is saying. He then follows this predictable behavior with tons of new links to support the first link he posted that the member may have expressed lack of interest in. That is what I meant when I said, he hits members with a string of links if they disagree. Or he will reply to a member who disagreed, and return, again, and again, to the same message voicing the same thoughts but worded differently until the member responds. It is annoying, obnoxious, irritating, and pushy in my opinion. Why not just post your link, article, or whatever, and if someone is not interested or disagrees, just accept it as that and move on. Just because someone else is not interested or disagrees with the article, doesn't mean he can't follow that particular belief or that someone is criticizing him personally. In his own words he has explained that he is trying to " prove a point " . Which means, most of the time his mind is already made up about the articles he posts and he is just looking to explain why others should agree with him, yet he trys to give the illusion he is looking for feedback and opinons. It's getting very old. In fact, I've blocked his email address so that I won't receive more of his messages, and after this post I will not respond to other messages on the board such as yours concerning Johndela1. rawfood , tev treowlufu <coac2002> wrote: > > The assertion or premise: " Anyone who disagrees with > him will be hit with a string of website links to > justify his opinion, which only shows he can't think > for himself.
