Guest guest
Thanks! If you eat this in the morning, what do you eat for the rest of the day? Also, if you were to eat, say pineapple, early in the day, would you get drowsy later? I can't eat fruit early in the day because it makes me drowsy. I don't pay too much attention to that. My " foundation " meal is my lunch where I have the following in my salad and it works fine for me. I hit the weights at the gym on a regular basis and do Bikram Yoga and I'm 6'-2 " , 215 lbs. Here is my salad and I get all the protein I need out of it. I say that because in Bikram Yoga we sweat alot and if I eat any more protein daily than what is listed below I can actually smell the excess protein sweating out of me in class in the form of uric acid. (smells like amonia) (I layer the salad from the bottom up like this every morning for the last 2+ years) baby spinich, slightly chopped up shredded carrots raw corn shredded red cabbage celery pumpkin seeds sunflower seeds raisins tomatos avocado For a salad dressing I use something I found in the Boutenko recipe book: Equal amounts of: Black/Red Raspberry vinegar Olive Oil and then add a bit of Nama Shoyu to the salad dressing and shake. -- |<---------------------- " Word-Wrap-At-72-Please " ---------------------->| Bill Schoolcraft PO Box 210076 -o) San Francisco CA 94121 /\ " UNIX, A Way Of Life. Guest guest
Just curious about the blood type diet... are there any successful Type O raw foodists? I'm O, and having massive protein cravings... any suggestions from other O's out there? Thanks, Annette
Guest guest
I'm an O type and I put soaked almonds in my smoothies. I also use soaked almonds to make my salad dressings. I have not been craving protein since then. I can also go longer between meals. I researched that almonds have the best nutrients of any nut that I have found. Guest guest
Annette, I don't know my blood type, but for protein cravings I have found spirulina to be helpful. I'm currently eating 10 to 15 grams per day, either added to my food or mixed with water. This morning I sprinkled some on avocado, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds and a little flax oil. Gabriel Cousens has an interesting couple of pages on blood type and diet in his book Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine. Glad you asked... I actually just mentioned my " lunch " below. What I've been having for breakfast everymoring is a some wheatgrass juice from my hothouse here on the coast of San Francisco http://billschoolcraft.com/farm And after waiting for at least 30 minutes after ingesting the wheatgrass juice I have what is in all actuality not 100% raw but it's fine with me. It's a special smoothie I've also been drinking every morning for the last few years. The following may get both the " Sugar_Police[tm] " and the " RawFood_Police[tm] " up in arms but it's just what I do. I gotta have some sort of vice right? 16oz grape juice 1 banana 1/2 cup grated carrots 1 tablespoon freshly ground flax seed some frozen pineapple chunks (Trader Joes) some frozen mixed berries (Trader Joes) 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (protein source) 1 tablespoon SuperPRO_Green (protein source) 1 tablespoon bee pollen 1 tablespoon of either chorella or spirulina powder. > In a message dated 1/7/2005 1:22:48 PM Eastern Standard Time, > bill writes: > > At Fri, 7 Jan 2005 it looks like rubianne2002 composed: > > > Just curious about the blood type diet... > > are there any successful Type O raw foodists? > > > > I'm O, and having massive protein cravings... > > > > any suggestions from other O's out there? > > > > I'm currently into a monthy (raw) cleansing and I'm " O_positive " > which is suppose to be classified as the " Meat Eating Hunter " > > I'm normally average 70% raw anyway on the " off " months that I'm > not doing these internel " light-weight " cleansings. > > I don't pay too much attention to that. Guest guest
For me, a protein craving is almonds, pumpkin seeds, tahini, or brazil nuts. My craving might translate into a lack of calcium, zinc, selenium, or vitamin E that these proteins offer. I responded to a post from someone craving protein, maybe of an animal source.
