Hey everyone...

Very new to the lifestyle... For christmas I got a great omega

juicer and having a great time with it... Question, what is the

shelf life of your juices. I have a problem juicing every day, can I

juice a couple of days worth and keep it in the frig? will i still

get the same benefits? any help would be great, thanks!!!

Have a great day!

since the juice is unpasturized it spoils very quickly

not to mention the loss of nutrients due to oxidation

there is a cabbage juice therapy for ulcers that says you need to drink

the juice within a minute of extraction for it to work right

I highly recommend juicing for each use

Sometimes I'll fill a thermos to the top and take it with me, but still

drink it within hours

When I juice I do enough for 2 servings. I put my second serving in a glass

mason jar and use a vacuum sealer & take it to work w/me. I don't put it in

the fridge unless it is summer. It must get all of the air out as the juice

does not turn dark at all as it use to do when I just put a lid on it & put

in fridge.

you only save it for hours though right?

I think this person was asking about saving it for days at a time

I think sealing it in a vacum for a few hours is fine

Vacuum sealing juices in jars works great.

At 22 " -23 " of mercury vacuum the liquid juice is de-gassed, meaning that

dissolves gasses such as oxygen are drawn out of solution. You can see the

gasses bubbling out.

I have made carrot juice like this and kept it refrigerated for up to ten days

with no noticeable loss of quality. I do immerse the jars in ice water

immediately after vacuum sealing them and my fridge is kept close to the

freezing point.

Also I use a green power juicer which is supposed to do things with magnets and

infrared energy that is supposed make the juice keep better.
