Guest guest
Yay! a recipe from my bonnet & inspired by master Chef Elaina Love! & it's yum yum for your tum =) One of the best ways I have found to make nut or seed butters is with a plain old cuisinart or food processor using the " S " blade. Be sure that your nuts/seeds have been soaked overnight and dehydrated. Once the " S " blade is in place, fill the carafe half way with your dehydrated nuts or seeds and maybe a lil' oil for the drier nut/seed varieties. Example: If I am using pumpkin seeds to make pumpkin butter, I am likely to add a lil pumpkin oil to oil the mechanism. Latch the top of the carafe into place and push the start button. Go prep something else for 5 minutes and you'll come back to a warm creamy butter. check the temp if you're concerned about over heating half way through the cycle. You may wish to stick your creaminess in the fridge half way through to allow it to cool a bit. Pumpkin seed butter is yummy in a variety of ways; on apple slices is my favorite! Happy un-cooking! I welcome ideas and feedback re: your discoveries and with regard to how this method works for you! Guest guest
Thank you for sharing Shakti. I had some of your plum butter (I think that's what it was) and it was delish. Seeing as pumpking butter is around $13 a jar it is nice to know how to make my own! Shari
