Greg,

Good question. I've forwarded your message to the Raw Seattle list. I know

there is a place in OR that specializes in seeds and trees but I can't remember

the name of it.

Can anyone out there help us out?

Thanks.

Hi, Nick & Greg -

I've been actively involved in organic gardening for a number of years, and

Nick may be thinking of Territorial Seeds in Cottage Grove,

www.territorialseeds.com. However, they don't sell fruit trees, I believe

the largest things they sell are tomato and berry plants.

I can't think of any nursery that I have contact with that has organic fruit

trees. However, I have seen small trees for sale at Seattle Tilth's organic

plant sale (although offered by other vendors), but I can't speak to the

varieties offered. You could call or email Tilth and ask them if they know

where you might try. (www.seattletilth.org)

Raintree nursery in Morton, Washington, carries a lot of the heirloom fruit

trees, and as well as drought-tolerant varieties. They might also have

information to help you out.

It there is a garden show in your area during later winter/early spring, a

visit to that show may help you find a local nursery that carries what

you're looking for.
