Guest guest
Jeff, Do you find it delicious? I bought a dragonfruit plant about 2 years ago at a www.crfg.org conference and am having only marginal luck with it because Sacramento's weather is only marignally suitable for Dragonfruit, and I have abused the poor plant. (No Fruit yet). I saw some fruit at Whole Foods in Las Vegas recently and bought some just to try it. I found it strange, beautiful, but almost vacant of taste. It reminded me of poi (which I used to eat as a kid in Hawaii). What is your experience with the taste? Guest guest
My experience with dragonfruit is the same. It is beautiful, with a very intriguing texture, but rather tasteless and not worth anything near the price. Nora " Mark S. Guest guest
I'd say it tastes slightly better than poi. Better looking for sure (no offense to poi/tarrow!) It does not have much sweetness. I agree with Nora, it's not worth the price. Interesting... durion looks far less pretty (like poi, but not gray,) and many love the flavor. Dragonfruit has almost no flavor, but looks good. I'd suggest cross-breeding the two, but we might end up with a flavorless, colorless, ugly, thorny fruit that stinks! Guest guest
Is dragonfruit the one with a gazillion little seeds that are like rocks? Shari

Guest guest
I had something one time that looked (from the picture) something like the dragonfruit and the seeds were not edible. They literally were rocks and the flesh was rather purple. On my way to CM in Mill Creek. I'll report back if I see anything interesting.
