Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine, Phase I

Shakti (or whoever wants to answer)

 

On page 21 of the Rainbow Live-Food Cuisine book he says that legumes are

included in the Phase I portion of the diet. But they are not included in

the list on page 34. Are all legumes permitted? I believe some bean

sprouts are toxic (i.e., soy sprouts, which once gave me a horrible

stomachache).

In my recent visit to TOL, this question was asked in a Q & A session with

Gabriel, and I recall him saying to avoid dried/sprouted legumes unless in

transition to raw (or very minimal use in phase II), and cook them then to help

rid them of enzyme inhibitors. We did have some fresh raw snow peas one night on

the menu, which I believe are considered in the legume family, but I don't

recall if they were listed as phase I or II - seems to still be some ambiguity

on legumes even with his answer there...
