Greetings to all raw friends!

We are proud to present updates on our raw foods supporting business

pursuits. For those who have read about it already, the main changes

to the documents addressed below are: the Methods document; the

Partnering document; the " Update " section of the Track Record

document; some line items regarding animal welfare in the Objectives

document; and the deletion of the last line of the old last

paragraph, and the addition of a new last paragraph, in the

Background document. Please review and give us feedback!

Greetings,

I do hope Superior Returns can generate good income for you. I was

looking through organicvolunteers.org not long ago and noticed that

the smaller farms noted that they were organic but could not afford

to be certified. I was curious as to the costs of certification and

looked today on the internet and found that it costs $300 to apply

for certification, plus $50 per additional site if you have more than

site where you farm. Then you have to pay a yearly fee to maintain

certification which is based on the amount of sales you make. This

covers certification in the United States. You have to pay a $200

fee to apply for certification if you will be exporting to Europe.

(See

http://agr.wa.gov/FoodAnimal/Organic/docs/Producer/NewAppFeeInfo_%

2004w.pdf for an explanation of the standards and fees.)

One idea that I had would be for Superior Returns to help small farms

achieve and maintain certification in return for some free produce

that would be available first to Superior Returns investors and also

to Seattle Raw members.
