Guest guest
Hi Lois, Have you read the new edition of " Conscious Eating " published in 2000? It was written by Gabriel Cousens. He has a lot to say about working through all the transition steps from eating heavily processed food to a raw food diet. In addition he has a method for sorting out all the different models for metabolism types, so you can tailor your diet to your specific metabolism. Different metabolisms need different balances in the food you eat. If you are eating opposite for what you need, even on raw food you can get less healthy instead of more healthy. If you are having a rough time, maybe this book would help. It usually ships within 24 hours from www.barnesandnoble.com so you could get it quickly if you want. May your day be filled with clarity, grace, progress, and warm laughter, Roger - " loisc100 " <loisc100 <RawSeattle > Saturday, February 19, 2005 1:04 PM [RawSeattle] Boutenkos last class & handouts > > > I am new to this chat, and to the raw food lifestyle. Guest guest
Well, I do have " Conscious Eating " , 2000. I'm afraid I never read it all from cover to cover. Today I have eaten 100% raw for 21 days, going on 22. I think I am doing pretty good, as I have followed the www.hacres.com program for the past 2 years. And since 1990 I have slowly changed my diet from the SAD, to where I am today. I did have some rough times eating all raw, so made up some carob candy, and ate those raw cacao nibs I ordered. I also have several raw recipe books and making some tasty dishes. I just need a sponsor, as Victoria said. Oh, watching her 12 Steps videos over and over has helped too. One problem I have is a cooked food husband, HA! Yet, I am lucky that he does his own cooking. Anyway, I will read what you suggested from Cousens book. THANKS! Guest guest
Hi Lois, Good luck with your progress, sounds like you are off to a good start. I second Roger's recommendation of the book Conscious Eating. I just completed a 3 month apprenticeship in Gabriel's cafe and I've never felt better after eating such mineral rich foods. Unfortunately, I do not have the handouts from the Boutenko talk... Best, Christy
