Guest guest
I got an address to send for the handouts, thanks. How long have you been a raw fooder? Today, is my 23rd day. But I went to a Thai restraunt for lunch with my husband. I asked for raw veggies. The cook blanched them! When I asked about it, I was told that broccoli needs to be put into boiling water to kill ? whatever. I said, I eat raw broccoli all the time. So, I figure this is on step # 4. " Raw fooders commonly try to become too perfect too fast. " I could never figure out how to eat from Conscious Eating. Could never figure out if I was a V, K, or P. And like I told Roger, I had been following www.hacres.com program, before I began the all raw. Do you live in Arizona then? Three months at the Gabriel cafe. You mean, learnt to prepare raw dishes there? OK! I have the book, so will read it and see how it goes. Thanks for your advice and email. I just completed a 3 month apprenticeship in Gabriel's cafe and I've never felt better after eating such mineral rich foods. Unfortunately, I do not have the handouts from the Boutenko talk... Guest guest
Hi there! Here are some Thai suggestions for raw fooders that make exceptions to the raw rule: I have two Thai restaurants in Seattle that I already have trained: The Royal Palm on 65th and Roosevelt, and the Phad Thai on Greenwood Ave. just North of 85th. I make my compromise by having the Coconut Soup Tom Ka vegetable (rather than Gau or chicken) or a curry sauce and ask the vegetables to be completely raw and served on the side so that I add them to the soup or sauce after it gets to the table. That way I can let the sauce cool to the point that it won't blanch or cook the veggies. I know the cooked sauce is not going to be everyone's way to go, but then I add things from my pocket some of which have been: Raw cashews, sprouted sunflower seeds, sprouts, sprouted ground rice, soaked wild rice, buckwheaties (sprouted dried buckwheat). Another dish I have is Rama Tofu, extra spinach please, completely raw, sauce on the side. Anyway for those strictly raw, these two restaurants would accomodate with a variety of raw vegetables. Guest guest
Hi! Thanks for the advice. However, I live in Yakima, WA and never get to Seattle. One reason I wanted Victoria's handouts. I believe my best places to eat out would be salad bars. Such as at Sea Galley, Old Country Buffet. That way my husband could eat his cooked foods and me the salads, with my own dressings. I did get a bit discouraged today, but then went shopping at my favorite health store. A new lady has started to work there and is interested in the raw food lifestyle and maybe we could start up a raw support group here in Yakima. Isn't there going to be cooking classes in March? And one is Tom Kah. I'd sure like to get those recipes. I didn't save that email, but the guy was a chef for Juliano's restraunt. I guess we should allow a compromise once in awhile, if it doesn't cause us to give up on eating 100% raw. But, I think I can make 100% raw doable by avoiding places I know I can't get 100% raw.
