Guest guest
Hi! I can not seem to pull up the website. Any suggestions? Do you know about the book, " Raw in Ten Minutes " by Bryan Au? That website opens to a checkered page, without anything else. Found it by going to www.rawguru.com . Anyway, thanks, Lois " jordanmaerin " <jordanmaerin wrote:Raw Foods for Busy People: Simple and Machine-Free Recipes for Every Day by Jordan Maerin Enjoy and prepare simple raw foods, the healthiest foods nature has to offer, while living a busy lifestyle. Guest guest
Lois - I had no problem getting the page, but you might want to go to Bryan's direct website: www.rawinten.com I have the book and it's quite interesting, to say the least. I have yet to make anything, but that's just me. I read recipe books like I read novels. Shari

Guest guest
2 different books - Raw in Ten and Raw for Busy People (same concept, though!) I have the Raw in Ten Minutes - I made a few things this weekend - his nacho cheese is actually pretty good. The funny thing for me is I always think I need a recipe - but I always realize I like the 'whole' food better. Raw in Ten has a nice Spinach dip - but I tried make his Ginger cookies and that didn't work. So, we will see - still trying & testing - he uses a lot of nuts and, like I said before, I like the whole food better. I am still sooo hooked on Juliano's House Dressing - that has been the best recipe I have ever tried from all of the books I have read (not to mention, Juliano's recipes seem to have been end results - he is a good flavor master.) Guest guest
Thanks for telling me they are two books. I already have around 9 or 10 raw food recipes books, so I really don't need another, huh? Some people I know think I go through a lot of work with my raw diet. And they tell me they don't have time, so thought about checking into the fast and easy book (s), to help motivate them to try eating the raw diet too. So, you like Juliano's House Dressing? I'll check out that recipe since I have his book. I find I would rather eat simple. Like fruit smoothies and a hugh salad. But then, I get tired of that and make PIZZA CRUST from Kim Wilson's book, " Everyday Wholesome Eating...In The Raw " . It is made with raw buckwheat, etc.. Guest guest
Yes, his house dressing is very simple but a great mix of flavors (if you like lemon & ginger - I would never have guessed it tastes the way it does) - I am also a very visual person and Juliano's book just makes me smile - very nice pictures of beautiful food! Raw in Ten uses a lot of Tahini, Miso, agave, and flax - I have only had the book for a week, but he does have some good ideas - 10 minutes? Probably the same as some of the other recipes just not dehydrated (he makes more 'pastes'.) I do know that to TRULY have his meals work - you need a REALLY good blender - my Target version just doesn't work! Can you ever have too many books? I am a big fan of reading them at the library and then buying them if I click with them. I will have to look up Kim Wilson's book - thanks for the tip! Guest guest
I understand that miso is not raw, or is agave. Here is a home made tahini recipe from the Lifefood recipe book by Annie Padden Jubb and David Jubb: Grind 1 c. raw sesame seed in a coffee grinder, and transfer to a bowl. Add 5 to 7 Tbsp. water and pinch of celtic sea salt. Mix to a thick paste. It is delicious and much cheaper than buying in a jar. Have you heard of the Jubb's? jubbsllongevity.com or lifefood.com. Are you 100% raw? I am finding out most raw recipe books still use some cooked items like maple syrup, and prepared mustard, etc.. I checked and Kim Wilson's book is not on amazon.com. I bought it through hacres.com or by calling 1800-915-9355 Another good raw book is, " How We All Went Raw " by the Top Raw Men. A couple of college guys, Charles Nungesser and Stephen Malachi. Can also be purchased from hacres.com. They have a great Macho Nacho sauce and Taco Meat. No, I guess I can never have enough recipe books. However, I now have too many cookbooks and don't know what to do with them. Can never get your money's worth re-selling. And since this is my 42nd. day on the raw diet, who knows, I might not stay 100% raw. Even though I want to. Guest guest
I've been told by the Tree of Life folks that miso, while not technically made raw ingredients, is a " living " cultured food, and is considered acceptable as such for a raw diet. There are also some companies that claim their agave is not heated above 120 degrees - this one, in particular, is claimed to be low in the glycemic index (12): http://www.naturalzing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=167 David On Mon, 14 Mar 2005 21:34:22 -0800 (PST), Lois Cole <loisc100 wrote: > > I understand that miso is not raw, or is agave. Guest guest
You know I went to http://www.rawguru.com and I still don't see a book. The only book I see is " Raw In Ten " by Bryan Au. Someone mentioned there are two different books. I'm confused. But then again, that is nothing new. Shari
