Potluck tomorrow?

Howdy, folks! I'm thinking about attending Sandra Steed's potluck

tomorrow (errm, today) for the first time, and wanted to make sure

that it's still on, since I sometimes find stale info on the web.

I've thought about making some pico de gallo (tomatoes, shallots,

chilis, cilantro, lime juice), but can't think of anything raw to use

as chips to scoop it up with. Any thoughts? Maybe something radical

like slices of jicama?

Color me raw-curious

Anthony,

The potluck should still be on. Sandra was planning on getting back

into town last night so she could get ready for it.

Perhaps someone can bring some dehydrated " chips " (crackers) for your

dip. Otherwise the jicama may work well or celery. Armed with

sufficient time and a dehydrater, it's possible to make a variety of

veggies, including root veggies, into " chips. "

Anthony,

I just called Sandra using the phone number from the web site, and she said its

definitely on. For your convenience I copied the address from the web site.

Location:

Sandra Steed's

1323 13th Ave S

Seattle, WA 98144

206-323-0488

How about vegetable sticks to stick in the dip:

broccoli

carrot

cauliflower

celery

cucumber

zucchini

and anything else stiff enough to slice and dip.

May your day be filled with clarity, grace, progress, and warm laughter,

Roger

I didn't receive the digest including Roger and Jeff's responses until

well after I got back from the potluck, so I went ahead with my jicama

idea, which seems to have gone over well. Thanks for the suggestions

of alternatives -- I'll remember them for future reference. I did get

Sandra's number from the web site and called later in the morning for

confirmation, which her machine's message thoughtfully provided.

Thanks for hosting this potluck -- I enjoyed myself and some wonderful

healthy food and met some great new people.

Nice meeting you as well, Anthony. Keep coming, and bring more
