Guest guest
All pancake lovers stock up the bananas! They are 57 cents a pound in Central Market today. Nice big organic avocados are $4/2. Cherimoyas are still sweet and juicy but price has gone up to $3.98/#. Helen
Guest guest
Hi Helen, Thanks for the info. I just picked up about 20 pounds of cherimoyas from the Seattle Uwajimaya because I thought $3.69 was a good price. How much were the Central Market cherimoyas before the price went up? Even $3.98 is a good price. In fact I've never seen them that cheap. I hope it's a trend. I forgot to report back on the durians. They were both very good. Not super, but good. The shells were very thick, so they didn't yield much fruit, which was disappointing. Lam's had more when I was there Sunday morning. Viet Wah had two whole raw jakfruit too for only $2.40 per pound. Guest guest
Central Market had two jackfruits as well, though they were not marked for price. The cut pieces (in the Asian produce section) were $3.98/lb. The smell of the cut pieces was intoxicating! Nora Lenz <nmlenz wrote: Hi Helen, Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Hi Nora, Cherimoyas had been $2.98/# for at least a couple of weeks. I reported about them on Apr 1 when I reported about the Fuji apples. Sorry you missed it. Glad to know the fresh durians turned out good. Maybe I bought it too early in the season. Have you tried those honey tangerines? They are pretty good, brix 12-17, most of them 14,15.
