Guest guest
The recent Raw Family Newsletter offers some interesting information on the importance of greens in the raw diet. Victoria offers a simple way of adding more greens in a vary palatable way: " the green smoothie " . Her newsletter also offers some of her research on chimpanzees and their diets regarding greens, as well as the Boutenko's testimonials. I have been interested in including more greens and have had similar issues. I find it more palatable to use fats (avocados or nut-based dressings, etc.), but have wanted to cut back on fats. Her smoothie is simple. I'm going to give it a try. Anyway, the rawfamily link below has some of the information. The email is rather long, so I am not including it here. If anyone would like me to forward their newsletter, email me off the list (jeff) and I'll send it along. Guest guest
Jeff, There is a juice sold in stores (locally anyway) called Naked Juice and it sounds similar to what you're describing. They are pasteurized, but taste good and might be a good last resort if you don't have a way to make something. Let me know if they are sold in your area and if you have tried them. Guest guest
> Let me know if they are sold in your area and if you have tried >them. I may have tried the Naked Juice many years ago. I haven't had any of the pasteurized juices since being raw. Back then I did try a similar green smoothie, now that you mention it.It probably had spirulina or similar, bananas, and other ingredients. Victoria's basic smoothie is kale, bananas, and water. Pretty simple! Jeff
