Guest guest
Oh how I tried to do this! I saw them in Vegetarian Times a few years back and tried to make my own. It was quite funny. Guest guest
I came across this today: Margaret Dorfman makes her delicate parchment bowls by hand from over 35 different types of fresh fruits and vegetables. The fruits and vegetables are cured for several days and then pressed, dried and aged into paper-thin, translucent vessels. http://www.uncommongoods.com/artist/artist.jsp?artistId=369 She's sold out of everything but the potato bowls! Guest guest
Well, I laid them on an inverted bowl and that was my problem, they DIDN'T! After reading the website I understand her bowls are very much more complicated than what I tried. I did see some in a magazine that were apple slices overlaid and dried in the shape of a bowl. They appeared to be much more sturdy than these. These are beautiful.
