OT: Fruit and Vegetable parchment bowls

Oh how I tried to do this! I saw them in Vegetarian Times a few years back

and tried to make my own. It was quite funny.

I came across this today:

 

Margaret Dorfman makes her delicate parchment bowls by hand from over

35 different types of fresh fruits and vegetables. The fruits and

vegetables are cured for several days and then pressed, dried and aged

into paper-thin, translucent vessels.

Well, I laid them on an inverted bowl and that was my problem, they DIDN'T!

 

After reading the website I understand her bowls are very much more

complicated than what I tried. I did see some in a magazine that were apple

slices overlaid and dried in the shape of a bowl. They appeared to be much

more sturdy than these.

 

These are beautiful.
