Guest guest
helen and all... >Norm, what brix levels do you get from mangos over there? um... i've only brixed one mango in a brix demonstration i did for an organic grower and it was a fuzzy 15 but i think that's pretty typical by my taste bud brix and how many times i say " yum'' to myself his greens were running around 6/7 but a sharp line which puzzles me 6/7 is above average for greens they didn't make me want more (12 is excellent) my best mango brix was a 22 or 23 from youngstocks market in bellyham purely smilin' food... the mango trees i've been picking from are taking a break so my staples have been papaya, pineapples and some finger bananas for the last week but i'll brix a few mangos the next time i come across them and get back to you it's the rainy season here (panama) now so the brix will probably be low one thing i can't brix is the *life force* which i feel is optimal when the tree drops the fruit what's this brix stuff all about ??? http://www.crossroads.ws/index.htm i read that brix is catching on in the markets but we can push it abit by asking our produce vendors for brix reading on their products norm )~ ...... raw food, simply wonderful .....
