My daughter, age 9, who lives half of the time with her mother, has had a

cough for some time which, according to a doc my ex took her to, is asthma.

The only suggestion this supposedly " natural " M.D. had was to prescribe an

inhaler (Albuterol).

We're not going to do that. We're going to treat it by making dietary and

environmental changes. 100% raw would undoubtedly fix the problem, but that

isn't going to happen. Even if she's 100% raw with me, I know she won't be

when she is with her mom.

I would like to consult with a local naturopath who will help us with this.

Maybe even a naturopath/homeopath. Or maybe even an M.D. with a natural

orientation, if there are any. I'd appreciate any referrals.

Get the child off dairy products for one. Then, we have Valya Boutenko, Victoria

wrote, " Bernard Jensen, a famous healer and teacher,........and Valya needed to

eat more figs and olives because they have healing properties for her asthma. "

This is written in the Raw Family book under the " Letting the Body Lead "

chapter. This is also what Valya craved and ate.

Hope this helps?

Hi Mark,

I cured myself of asthma by cutting out all dairy, sugar, and food additives

like sulfur dioxide, etc, and getting rid of all the chemicals in the house. I

got asthma from mold in the house - your ex may want to check and see if there's

mold, especially in your daughter's room.

I did receive some help from Dr. Michelle Antonich at the Bastyr clinic in

Wallingford - she put me on a food elimination diet and prescribed a tincture

for acute attacks. She told me to hold onto my inhaler for a year to make sure I

have it under control. I only had two mild attacks after my visits to Bastyr and

I used the tincture - it worked. It was very cold air during walking that

brought on the attacks - this and very cold food like ice cream can bring on an

attack. I'm going on 2 1/2 years of being asthma-free and I had a very severe

case. There are things that will make me wheeze though if I'm not careful - a

campfire, those toxic fat marker pens, most laundry detergent and household

cleaners, cigarette smoke, and very cold food to name a few. I just do my best

to stay away from these things.

Feel free to ask any questions.
