Guest guest
As several people have requested info on the co-op I'll give some general information on our progress and I invite anyone to call me at 425-868-8128 to get more specific info. About 3 or 4 months ago the core group of our monthly potluck decided to see if we could get some better pricing by combining our orders. We gradually added more companies until about a month ago we decided what we were doing was in essence a co-op so we might as well call it that and see if other people would like to share in the good prices while also expanding our buying power to get even better prices. The companies we currently have accounts with (and the discounts and types of products) are: Nature's First Law (up to 40% on a broad range of raw vegan products) www.rawfood.com Natural Zing (up to 40% on a broad range of raw vegan products) www.naturalzing.com Tehama Gold (30% on premium olive oil) www.tehamagold.com Dr. John's Crackers (45% on crackers) www.drjohnscrackers.com Health Force Nutritionals (40% on super foods like VitaMineral Green and related items) www.healthforce.com The Synergy Co. (25% - 30% on super foods like Pure Synergy and Vita Synergy) www.thesynergycompany.com The Watershed (25% - 35% on water alkalizers, air ionizers, dehydrators, spirulina & chlorella) www.watershed.net Miracle Krystal Salt ( 40% on Himalayan salt) www.luvsalt.com We're currently in the 10 day process of opening an account with one of the largest wholesalers of health food products in the Northwest. We'll have their catalog at the potluck this Saturday - 1 " thick of 20 to 40% off prices on pretty much anything (except produce) you'd buy at your local co-op -bulk nuts, spices, supplements, personal care, grocery, etc. At the potluck, we'll also have hard copy packets of all the wholesale prices of the companies we're currently working with. Ideally, to make this work as a co-op the hope would be that people could contribute their various skills in getting this off the ground. Obviously, we need a web site, a good computer person, software, etc. Since we're in the early stages and since this is a co-op, all ideas are welcome. - " trschiavone " <trschiavone <RawSeattle > Saturday, July 30, 2005 9:28 PM [RawSeattle] raw food co op sorry, can't come to the potluck on the 6th but am interested in the raw food co-op that is being formed in Seattle. Guest guest
Sorry you couldn't make the pot-luck - we had a great turnout (24) and a veritable raw feast - maybe next month (we'll also be doing croquet next month). As far as a co-op update, we held an inpromptu co-op ideas " meeting " where several people offered computer help and contact info and we discussed some general logistics. If you are interested in being part of the co-op, e-mail me your off list e-mail address and we'll add you to the co-op e-mail list for order announcements, new company updates, co-op news, etc. (such as this week we're ordering HealthForce,Synergy, Natural Zing).
