Guest guest
Gee, two minutes for three hours. That's not much! But at least she was on national TV, a big coup! Lois you are a trooper for having watched the whole thing!!! I sat and watched the whole show. Boring! Lois Sheree <goldenrae2001 wrote: It was around 9:10 - 9:15am. Not a big fan either.... vegwriter wrote: What time did it air? Guest guest
I would love to know how she managed to get on the show. Any idea? I wrote asking her but she didn't respond. Judy In a message dated 8/9/2005 11:26:24 PM Eastern Standard Time, loisc100 writes: Well, at least Alissa was able to get the point across, but didn't have a good response when Katie and Lester tasted her smoothie and cucumber juice. Nor, did she really get to share much about her book. Yes, watching TV is not my idea of fun anymore, but I didn't want to miss seeing Alissa. I figured it would be on later than she planned, but like you said, at least she was on. Lois, from Yakima, WA vegwriter wrote: Gee, two minutes for three hours. That's not much! Guest guest
Yes, all of what you said. Of course. What I'd like to know is the specifics in Alissa's case. Well... when I was on the show last year (twice)... OK, I was actually part of the crowd on the " Plaza " , but I was on! I suspect it has to do with a combination of timing, interest by the show, connections, notoriety, etc. They probably get thousands of submissions a week (or day). If you get the right staff reading your email/letter, who is in the right space, you might get in. Same with other morning shows and Oprah. With Oprah's electronic submissions, if they don't have an initial interest in your appearance or show idea, they keep your submission in their database and may find it in a search later on. For example, I had submitted suggestions last year, but didn't receive a response. Now, let's say Paul McCartney was to be on a show and wanted some vegan ice cream. They do a search of their database and... you never know! I don't know if the Today Show works the same way, but it makes sense to keep the submissions on file. That way, everyone may get a second chance. Persistence may also pay off, but I don't know. Some shows may get annoyed. I'd be curious how Alissa got on too.
