Guest guest
Hi All, I'm new to this group but not new to raw foods. In fact I participated in some raw potlucks in Seattle back in the late 90's and early 2000's. After reading others posts, some of your names look familiar to me. But then I decided to take a detour off the raw vegan path for a few years and started consuming dairy again and things like pizza and pasta. I was still at about 50% raw. Well I didn't notice much difference in how I felt for a while but then it became more like a cumulative effect and I wasn't feeling so good after a few years, even had to resort to some meds (Yuck!) temporarily. Well I decdied last year to go vegan again and increase my percentage of raw. I also had to spend some time doing some emotional/psychological work on myslef before I could come back. And I highly recommmend this to others if they really want to be succesful at a high percentage of raw because stuff DOES come up. So I've been doing pretty well and maintain about 80% raw most days. And just the other day I did aboout 99% which felt great. I guess some of us like myself just have to experiement on ourselves before we realize that raw vegan ( high percentage) is really the way to go. I KNOW I feel better when I eat this way but cooked food addictions are indeed very strong and difficult to overcome. Maybe I'll show up at a raw potluck again one of these days. Cheers! Guest guest
Diana, Welcome (back) to the group! I do remember a " Diana " from quite a few years ago. Perhaps that was you. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Having more raw " Community " usually helps with the food addictions and staying raw. See you at a potluck! Guest guest
Hi Diana, Welcome! It's good to have you. :-) I think the emotional/mental aspects of going and staying raw are probably the biggest challenge that people face. I also did a lot of work in this area before I could be successfull. It wasn't always easy, but it was worth it. Take care and I hope to meet you some day, Audrey --- Diana <nillamocha6724 wrote: > > Hi All, > > I'm new to this group but not new to raw foods.
