My friend has a manx cat that is REALLY overweight. She (the cat) has to loose

weight and I suggested to my friend that she feed the cat raw food.

Is there a place in the Seattle area to pick up Raw Cat Food? Anyone have any

ideas on referrals for this diet?

THANKS!

Paula

hi Paula, janaki rose here...fyoi: it can be really difficult to transition

an adult cat raised on canned food to raw. I have an adopted adult male

that will not touch it, but years ago i did get an old cat of mine to

transition by " spicing " it with those freeze-dried goodies like tuna,

chicken and other dried fish. Also, I found that since the cooked food

kitty requires dried cat food with occassional canned to be happy, I found

the two that I raised on raw will not eat the canned, at least not much of

it, when its left out, but they all eat the dried. So I just try to make

sure the younger two get enough raw kitty food that maybe what they eat of

the other won't hurt them so much.

Paula,

My kids' cats were raised on dry food, but I have given them the two frozen

raw varieties available at Whole Foods. One of them they love, the other

they will not touch. I can't remember the brand of the one they love, but

the one they hate is in small cubes and I think it is called Steve's. Next

time I go there I will get the brand names.
