Guest guest
If you can't find one locally be sure to check ebay, there are always quite a few of them on there. Guest guest
VitaMix is coming to Costco in Kirkland on September 29th - October 8th. The cost will be $359.00 for the vitamix 5000. I think the warrenty on the ones from costco is only 3yrs.

Guest guest
I hadn't noticed the costco price (although not everyone is a costco member). I paid considerably more than that when I bought a new last year (although it came with the dry blending container. Guest guest
Yes, I used to have one of the old ones that looked like a retro big chrome toaster with the metal blender on top. Worked great, got lost in a move. These are even nicer with the variable speeds. Guest guest
Maybe it's the model with a variable speed? I don't know, but that is my thought. The less expensive model have on/off, hi/lo and that's it. Mine has on/off, hi/lo and a variable speed knob which I use - a lot. Guest guest
Since I am new at raw food and am not experienced with uncooking with a blender, do you recommend the dry blade and container? Thanks!
Guest guest
I had the dry blade containter at one time and it was never used. Besides, I never do anything dry! I think at one time I would grind flax seeds, but the regular blade does just as good of a job as the dry blade. Shari
Guest guest
You probbly won't use it for very much eating raw. It is mostly for grinding whole grains into flours or hot cereals. You can use the regular blade/container for most everything else including nut butters.
