ABC Television is looking to feature fabulous families who

follow the raw foods diet - or a similar philosophy - on their

upcoming show. ABC would like to talk with families who are

passionate about truly living and eating healthy. Has this diet

enhanced your quality of life – or influenced your lifestyle and

parenting style in other positive ways? Could another family

learn a thing or two by experiencing your lifestyle? ABC wants

to hear from you!

Currently there is casting for ABC's hit family show, Wife Swap!

Please don't be confused by the title - Wife Swap is a family

show on ABC primetime. The premise is simple: two moms from two

very different families get the opportunity to swap lives (but

not bedrooms - everyone has their own!) for a week to experience

what it's like to live a different lifestyle - and to see what

they can teach each other about their own! The goal is for both

families to take away something positive from the experience

while also teaching each other why their beliefs and

philosophies are so important and beneficial. Again, the casting

producer thinks the raw foods movement is a fascinating

philosophy that many families may never have heard of - and

could possibly benefit from! ABC would greatly appreciate you

forwarding this information on to any families who might be

interested in sharing their lives with us for a week!

All featured families will receive a $20,000 financial

honorarium for their time. ABC is looking for two parent

families with children (between the ages of 5 and 18) who are

ready for adventure!

If your family fits into the above description, contact me and

I'll hook you up with the casting agency.

This is a good way to help educate the masses about diet. However, I

suggest that anyone getting involved, who is adamant about keeping

their children raw and vegan, etc. discuss it with the producers, as

the other " wife " may have changes in mind that contradict your own. As

the other wife changes the rules for one week with your children, they

may be eating different foods. Of course, that could also demonstrate

how ill some people can get, depending on how clean a diet they have

been on. Probably best for those who are not 100% raw vegan.

Did you ever think that they will require you to eat meat, drink milk, cook

food? That's the premise of these shows and that is what happened to the last

raw family that entered one of these.

This information came from Doug Graham. Paraphrased by me.

Island of Hawaii near me....live currently in large tents as they are

building their " Earth Ship " home out of all recycled materials

Hi,

I am forwarding an email I received from Victoria Boutenko. She is

opposed to a raw family being on Wife Swap and I agree with her.

If your kids are raw, why would you want them eating SAD food again

with the non-raw Mom? Why expose them needlessly not only to the

food, but to other people who react negatively and say comments to

the kids that discourage or are hurtful to them?

Kathleen Scheps

Here's Victoria's email:

Dear Friends,

There is an email that is being circulated about having raw food

families appear on a reality based television show. Many people are

unaware of the possible negative consequences that accompany such an

offer.

Three months ago this TV company from New York called me several

times and asked for the addresses of raw families in the US. They

promised $2,000 to me if I help them find one and $20,000 to the

participating family. I replied to them that while there were

probably hundreds of raw families in this country it was unlikely

that any raw family would want to be exposed. Now, as the word is

out, I am concerned for some raw families who might agree to

participate for the sake of money.

Just last weekend I was in Eugene and met my friend Nancy B., whose

ex-husband (a former raw foodist) is suing her for " improperly "

feeding her two boys (ages 7 years and 2 years). Both boys have

developed well according to their doctor but she is afraid to live at

home and is living in her van.

It is not just a fear, it is a reality. Raw food is not officially

recognized yet. Since 2005 my family has been financially and

psychologically supporting five different families whose children

were attempted to be taken (or were taken) away by authorities. If

similar children will get exposed, there will be some viewers out of

millions that would want to help " poor " children to be

fed " properly. " Especially if professional TV producers will get kids

to talk. Children are often naïve and they can say things

like, " Yeah, I also like pizza but my parents never allow me to eat

it! " For years, my kids were questioned about their diet by many

strangers on the street. We were able to escape by constantly moving.

I strongly believe that to expose the benefits of the raw food diet,

adults have to act first without involving children, and this process

is already happening. When it will become more normal and acceptable

to be on a raw diet among adults than we can expose our kids.

Sincerely,

Victoria

Let them be, Dawn. They don't need anything like this. It was a

nightmare the only other time a raw family participated. The families

_have_ to trade lifestyles and it isn't fair to anyone who has a high

standard of what they will or won't put in the human body.

Also, I would think that it would be abusive to the children to force them to

eat a SAD diet, especially if they've been raw for years or even their whole

lives. I can't imagine what their poor little bodies would have to endure

purely for the entertainment of others.

Plus, shows like wife swap never try to educate the public to alternative

lifestyles. They typically just make fun of them in a " look at the freaks " kind

of way.

OK, IF Our family had the time, we WOULD do it because:

My kid is 14, hard core raw, knowlegable and highly educated. He

could teach technical raw seminars as well as any well known adult,

never loses his calm balance and fasts occsionally for a week or

more. So to him, he would calmly decline animal products, give a

knowledgable explanation of everything, educate the viewers and say

something like " I was thinking of doing a one week water fast anyway,

thank you for the opportunity " . ;-) " I will enjoy my fast as I watch

you mindlessly contine on your path to disease and drug dependence " .

My wife and I would fast too and have the same responses.

When it turned around, we all are capable of making delicious gourmet

raw meals that even fast food addicted kids would love.

I think it would be a blast and our family would love it. When handed

our $20K we would donate it on TV to send copies of Eating2, The RAVE

Diet to the entire zip code where the other family lived and to

defense funds for raw families being harrased by social services.

We would make it an educational and political event and we would

relish the opportunity.

It's my understanding that this wouldn't be an option. I think you have to

agree to participate in the other side of things which means you would be

contractually bound to eat whatever the other " mom " cooked, including meat. I

could be wrong though.

Would you do it even if you knew it might mean losing your kids to the

authorities? Did you read the letter from Victoria Boutenko?

Here's an excerpt from another letter. This woman is the moderator of another

raw food list:

" I have been meaning to write about this for a while now, don't know where all

the time goes! :o

My friend was on the wife swap show and it ruined her life! She is a vegan and

they twisted around everything she said and made her look bad and also made her

look like a bad mom. She is an amazing mom! She is an actress too and found it

to be very difficult to get work.

I do hope that all of you will heed Victoria's advice and steer clear! "
