Guest guest Posted May 24, 2007 Report Share Posted May 24, 2007 Although I traditionally disagree with Dr. McDougall about raw food, I must give him utmost credit for speaking the truth by (hopefully publicly) rebutting the blatant lies promoted by Nina Planck in her NYT editorial. I lost my respect for the NY Times many moons ago, especially after they marched in lockstep to the beat of the Shrub both for the wars in Afghanistan Iraq. They also have a lengthy ugly history of slandering animal rights campaigns in general, particularly anti-fur and vegan issues, promoting the fur industry as much as Bush promotes the military industrial complex. I am so sick tired of seeing mainstream newspapers getting away with promoting lies distortions, all the while ridiculously accused of having a "liberal media bias" when the opposite is invariably true. If not for the ink on its paper, I'd readily use the NYT and similar rags for toilet paper. I've long called the NY Times, "All the news that's fit to burn" for excellent reason. This may offend some, but there is no "liberal media bias" in reality. Our major media, except for C-SPAN and Democracy Now!, are indisputably right-wing. I'd like to shake Dr. McDougall's hand, but I sincerely hope the NYT will have the decency to publish his well-grounded rebuttal. I ask this panel openly, how can we collectively persuade the NY Times and other undeservedly "reputable" publications to tell the facts instead of spreading spin false propaganda?
