I have been gradually working with my 3 yr. old son, who is currently a vegetarian, on converting to a raw vegan. Tonight I he helped me make a salad and didn't like the Bragg's aminos. So he asked for the sprinkles (sea salt + flax seed ground). So I made some sprinkles for him. He then decided he didn't want the salad and at the sprinkles with his spoon........lol It was so cute.He then decided he wanted to eat his dessert, which was watermelon.I just got two new books, one about helping children to become raw, and the other is about Genetic Modifications (Seeds of Deception). I think I am going to start giving lectures and rallying some troops to fight the big guns on GM, pesticides, etc........... It is about time I get off my butt and do something about the things that bother me.--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature. If man made it, don't eat it.100% Raw Vegan Learn about the power of raw foods at ---> http://www.rawfoods.com

Whew,

I am a new member to the group and I just don't know where to begin. Fear (False evidence appearing real) has paralyzed me and I just don't know where to begin. Of course, I want to take baby steps. I had already started with 1 week out of the month eating raw but due to lack of knowledge and recipes, I couldn't wait to get some "real" food. After joining the group, I am so amazed that I am ready to go cold turkey. (lol)

That is exactly how I did it. However, most people don't recommend this approach. If you do it, be sure to get a good book, or two, on going raw. I recommend "12 Steps to Raw Foods". The author does a good job explaining it from the point-of-view of an addict, which is what most people are when it comes to cooked food. At first it might seem easy, then you venture out with your friends; and wham, it hits you............ You start to get the cravings.... Just be strong. Good Luck...................................--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature. If man made it, don't eat it.100% Raw Vegan--- im_theonly1 wrote:Miz Mack <im_theonly1 , Re: raw childrenWed, 15 Aug 2007 10:00:25 -0700 (PDT)Whew, I am a new member to the group and I just don't know where to begin. Really??? Do you recall where you read that? I can believe it. This is one reason I don't like to use seasonings and junk. Scott, please be aware that your son ate the salt; the flax seed flakes just came along for the ride.

I mention this, because salt damages our entire system. The first damage occurs in the mouth, where the efficacy of our taste buds is impaired. In other words, we lose a portion of our capacity for taste whenever we consume salt (NaCl).

Thought this might interest you, can add more if you wish.

Best,

Elchanan
