Guest guest
Does anyone know if the DC area raw food potlucks are still happening? (Steve S., are you stll in DC?) Steve stopped sending the monthly emails and then I got a few from someone else and then they stopped. The raw foods potlucks had been going on for more than thirty years! Helena Looking for a deal? Guest guest
My email seems to be acting strange, and I am not sure this message actually got delivered. I would be glad to host a potluck. I live in Centreville, VA. I could probably get a facility to use. , " E. Guest guest
Check out the Northern Virginia Raw Food Meetup Group. They've been having monthly potlucks with a good turn-out. The next gathering is on Sept. 8th. (http://rawfood.meetup.com/67/). It's a fun mix of people and the food is terrific. Joseph, the coordinator, is moving this fall, and I'm not sure if anyone else has stepped in yet to take his place. Guest guest
It would be a shame for the DC area potlucks to stop after more than thirty years. Recently they have been a sub-group of the DC Veg Society but before that they were independent and went by various names: The Raw Foods Club, The Living Foods Club, and Sprouts (and perhaps more!). I attended my first one in Feb. 1985 at Alex Hershaft's house (Alex is the founder of FARM, Farm Animal Reform Movement). I had just moved to the DC area and was told that evening that the potlucks had been going on for 7 or 8 years (and that was in 1985!). Love, Helena Need a vacation?
