Does anyone have a good base for veggie burgers? I have tried several and they always taste horrible. I have even tried some from my recipe books, and they don't seem to come out right.I tried using sunflower, almonds and ground carrots as a base, but got no where. I would like to dehydrate them.I am also going to try using oat groats, almonds, and maybe some fruit for snack bars. I am also thinking almonds, sunflower seeds and flax oil might work as a good base.I have been poking around on various websites and have not found anything that really works. Hi Scott,

Alissa Cohen has a nice recipe in " Living on Live

Food. "

4 medium carrots

1 C pecans

1 C button mushrooms

1 C onion

3T cilantro

2T olive oil

1/2 teasp each of: dried fennel, corriander, curry,

sea salt

pinch of black pepper

In a food processor, first chop carrots; then add all

other ingredients.

Form into patties

Dehydrate at 105 for 7-8 hours (placed on mesh

screen).

Enjoy!

Hi Melissa,

I see you have a master in public health. Please let me know how you are working with the Holistic side and public health. I think that is an amazing combination.
