Guest guest
Neither of my Clinique lipsticks turned black. Wasn't sure if it would turn black on my hand or on the gold ring - but it didn't do either... ?? Recently a lipstick brand called 'Red Earth' Decreased their prices from $67 to $9.90. It contained lead. Lead is a chemical which causes cancer. The lipstick brands that contain lead are: CHRISTIAN DIOR LANCOME CLINIQUE Y.S.L ESTEE LAUDER SHISEIDO RED EARTH (Lip Gloss) CHANEL (Lip Conditioner) MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK. The higher the lead content, The greater the chance of causing cancer. After doing a test on lipsticks, It was found that the Y.S.L. Lipstick Contained the most amount of lead. Watch out for those lipsticks Which are supposed to stay longer. If your lipstick stays longer, it is Because of the higher content of lead. Here is the test you can do yourself: 1. Put some lipstick on your hand. 2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick. 3. If the lipstick color changes to black, then you know the lipstick contains lead. Guest guest
Interesting. Lead is a substance ... NOT a chemical ... one of the basic elements that make up the period table. And lead does not really cause cancer ... just death. There is, in fact, a school of thought that lead poisoning contributed significantly to the fall of the Roman Empire. You see, the nobility ate from dishes that contained lead. Elchanan On Behalf Of Namaska7Sent: Saturday, September 15, 2007 2:03 PM Cc: AliveandRawSubject: Lead in Lipsticks .. Guest guest
Studies have shown numerous links between environmental toxins and cancer. Below are links to articles on research that has been done on lead and cancer. One study links lead exposure to brain cancer. Other studies link lead exposure to lung and other cancers. Articles are conservative in their assessments indicating that the results are inclusive. . .typical for corporate-protective institutions. (Remember the inconclusive link between between tobacco and lung cancer. . .I worked with the American Cancer Society in the past, and I must reveal that I have a lot of issues with that organization. When you see what goes on up close and personal, you tend to question the mission. I will leave it at that.) http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/content/PED_1_3X_Lead.asp?sitearea=PED http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/08/060828211626.htm Nevertheless, I normally would be more thorough in my response, but I don't have time for all of the explanations. In general, environmental toxins promote dna damage, causing faulty cell messaging which can result in abnormal cell growth and other abnormalities. Overall, I believe in the law of cause and effect. This law permeates our lives. Death being an effect, happens due to some cause -- even so- called " natural causes " produce some effects on the body which lead to death. Many studies show a high correlation between cancer and lead. Of course correlation and causality are two different things. (You could have a high correlation between people who wear blue and cancer, but it won't mean that blue causes cancer.) But as you understand the causes that lead makes on the body, you can begin to understand the effect. --Deirdre , " Elchanan " <Elchanan wrote: > > Interesting. Lead is a substance ...
