Wheat grass ... Ann Wigmore

Hi Nancy,

People who pursue a SUSTAINED healthful RF diet frequently report improvements in the texture, color, thickness, etc. of their hair ... PARTICULARLY IF AND WHEN THEY CEASE USING HAIR CARE PRODUCTS. This is not brought about by wheat grass, but rather by a more generalized improving of one's overall diet and health program.

I have known RFs using various approaches to report such improvements, and such improvements occur almost universally among those who choose an 80/10/10 or similar approach. There was an extensive conversation about this in the Raw Food group, 2 years ago give or take. One woman, who had worked in salons for decades, reported that as she improved her diet and eliminated all hair care products ( a HUGE change for her!! :), the condition of her hair became better than at any time in her memory.

I have known a woman who when I met had beautiful black hair (I think in her 50's) and she said that she'd been gray until drinking wheat grass and all the hair color came back! Cool huh!

Yes a lot of people have.. I had great success w/ it w/ old scars being removed, hair color, bald spots, and gums also.. I tend to add things in my diet one at a time so I can monitor my reactions.. These Results occurred a few months after adding wheatgrass juice, even though I had been vegan and about 75% raw for a few years prior (although I knew nothing of the concept of raw, or living foods lifestyle).. I also witness my pops using it to soak his toenails, and also rub it on his skin.( while we were at Wigmores). His nails (black for years, diabetic) lightened up almost to pink.. He didn't start this until the beginning of his second week there....I tend to go by the results I'm getting, or in other words what's working for me.. I also will look at who it is that's giving the info, if they are following it, and what that looks like on them, before considering itMark... happily celebrating 49 earth years this week

All these results occur quite naturally and commonly as a result of living

more healthfully. There are NO studies, of which I am aware, that show any

correlation at all between eating wheat grass, in any form, and any such

results. Nor will there likely be any ... for the grass does not create

these results.

People seem to forget, or ignore, or not wish to hear, that when Ann Wigmore

and others feed wheat grass juice, they introduce an entire program at the

same time. The calorie reduction, the elimination of animal foods and

processed/cooked grains ... THESE are the primary causes of the improvements

people experience. Not the grass. Not blending. Just living and eating more

healthfully, day by day.

SOAKING in it, a foot or the like as you describe, can be tremendously

helpful ... as long as the grass is used externally. I have seen and

experienced healing even gangrene, saving someone's entire foot, alternating

wheat grass and potatoes in such a way.

So the results are absolutely real. It's the understanding of

cause-and-effect that's off.

Best,

Elchanan

Scott, You can also go to Ann Wigmore Institute in Puerto Rico. They have all

the

wheatgrass you will need and plenty of raw food. It really is an intense mind

opening

experience. The combo of regular wheatgrass and raw foods is powerful without a

doubt.

I am not saying that wheatgrass tastes good, but it is rich in so many vitamins,

minerals,

amino acids, and chlorophyll. The body does get used to it in small amounts as

it boosts

your immune system and cleanses the body. It's most useful to have a thorough

experrience with it rather than a shot at a health food store. Most of the

wheatgrass

around here is hydroponic which lacks the proper balance of minerals from the

grass

grown in organic soil.

Just in case you forgot, or ignored the discussion about wheat grass is not centered on wheat grass being the only factor in health improvement, it is about wheat grass having benefits.. Ann Wigmores program (studies).. Did not originate w/ wheat grass as part of the protocol. It was implemented because of the results obtained when it was added on to the program.. The decision to add it was not random.. It came from her own personal experience, and then her studies, and many others on introducing wheat grass to the body... There's this story going about other things being the determining factor in these changes, and that assumes people started wheat grass, or blending, or juicing at the same time as the other changes.. Not true.. Gary Null also has studies (you can look on his web page).. Of reversing graying, and restoring balding, when green juices, were added to an already healthy eating regiment, and this is not even w/ an all raw diet.. He too after years of eating an 80% raw diet, started juicing green drinks, and effectively reversed his graying and balding after implementing the green juice.. Putting wheat grass on your skin is both externally and internally.. Does what's on the skin get absorbed into the tissues? I have seen some of the spokespeople for the 80/10/10 diet, and quite frankly many of them look and age the same as people on the standard American diet.. Now I don't live w/ them, or monitor to see if they in fact eat what they promote.. I look at the example they are being when I see them.. It would be difficult to find, or seriously look for studies on wheat grass, if one's "already thinking" is that it's harmful and not good for the body..

Thank you. I agree that it is important to not characterize Wheatgrass or any

other

substance as a miracle food. As you point out, the overall dietary approach is

the most

important thing. But one cannot argue about the high nutrient levels in a small

shot of

wheatgrass juice. It is a bioavailable nutrient rich source that does become

absorbed and

utilized by the body. It improves cellular health and is an overall medicinal &

nutrient

dense substance.

A raw vegan approach along with other valid approaches to lifestyle and eating

are much

more important than wheatgrass, but I honor the research done by Ann Wigmore in

her

quest for an amazing whole food supplement.

I have been attempting that, and it seems to be working. However, the gray spots don't seem to be going away yet.....lol It will probably take a long time. I have not been drinking wheat juice grass either. This week I did try some natural shampoo, but not sure if I like it. It has coconut oil and stuff in it.--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature. If man made it, don't eat it.www.POISONINGaNATION.com--- Elchanan wrote:"Elchanan" <Elchanan Wheat grass ... Thanks Mark,

for your in depth and thoughtful reply. I have spoken to several folks who have used wheatgrass and have reaped benefits to include cancer prevention and reversed gum disease.

I'm thankful for the sages on this group who offer their perspectives as further food for thought.

Be well
